My experience was horrible. The dentist began by medically advising me about how I will always have high blood pressure, anemia and asthma and should be on medication and followed up with my provider. I briefly explained that any of the 3 things I marked (asthma, highblood pressure and anemia) are all followed up with by my doctor and no medication needed. As they where all from years ago when I was a child and highblood pressure after having my 3 yrd old. She began to advise me that due to my weight I was causing these issues to my body and that they would never go away. That I should get on medication for all 3. Something that I have consulted with my doctor about and no longer need them for asthma or anemia plus I get frecuent follow up for. Blood panels run frequently. This dentist did not even complete a cleaning that was the reason for my visit and proceeded to tell me that the cavety on my molar was not going to get a filling for it. That she can have it pulled or refer me to a root canal specialist. Then I wait for the referral and the dental hygienist then tells me that my inshurance doesn't cover the root canal or crown. Somethijng that I k own is bluf as I work for dental inshurance company all you need is a pre authorization sent and the inshurance to deam it medically necessary. I then get in my car and call my insurance and low and behold a pre Auth is what is needed. Belive she wanted to rip me off by sending me to an out of network specialist. Reporting her for medically advising me when she is not a doctor only a dentist. Never going back there again and making shure she dosent get paid for service that was not done like my cleaning or oral evaluation. She never even looked...
Read moreI recently went to Guilford Family Dentistry for basic dental cleaning. They found a cavity. They submitted a pre-approval for a filling procedure with my insurance.
When the pre-approval process was complete, they contacted me to inform me of the prices. They told me that Delta Dental would cover $220.80 and that my portion of the bill would be $223.20. Originally I did not know that this is incorrect as my pre-approval statements get sent to my parents house.
While discussing pricing nonchalantly with my co-workers, they made mention that it seemed awfully expensive. I called Delta Dental and was informed that Delta Dental would be paying $220.80, but as I am in a PPO policy, I should only be paying $105.20. Her math determined that the dentist was going to charge me the difference between the PPO cost and the regular cost.
I called Guilford Family Dentistry to see what their reasoning was. I spoke with Katie (receptionist), and informed her of the issue. She found my pre-approval form, informed me again that Delta Dental would pay $220.80 and my portion was $223.20. I told her that my portion of the bill was supposed to be $105.20 and they were not legally allowed to charge me the difference. She claimed that this was "hospital policy." I canceled my appointment upset with full intentions of filing a grievance claim and review.
I will no longer be returning to this facility as theft and lying under a guise of "hospital policy" is...
Read moreAfter searching months to find a dentist that accepted Medicaid, I finally ran into this dentist office. I called and they scheduled me quick which I loved cause I was having a really bad tooth ache….. but my Most recent visit changed my mind completely. I came in today for a root canal procedure and a cleaning. let me start by saying I felt EVERY little bit of pain during this entire visit, and I left with majority of my teeth aching when they weren’t aching before I went it. The dentist was extremely rough while cleaning my teeth. And all I received was the removal of plaque/tartar for my cleaning. Isn’t there other things that is usually done during a cleaning?. Also, after the dentist sealed my tooth after the root canal, the sealing is not only on the tooth the procedure was done on but the tooth next to it!!! After my visit I went to my car and checked my teeth in the mirror and I had so much blood stuck between all of my teeth because of how rough the doctor was during my cleaning, I have never in my life seen that much blood in my teeth from a simple cleaning. My appointment was completed at 10:30, it’s 5pm and my teeth are still bleeding tremendously ….PLEASE outweigh your options for other dentists before choosing this one. They do good with scheduling but the dentist is extremely rough. I...
