In the comment section it said to "tell others why you hated this place"!!?!!...I think that's a terrible way to start of your comments when discouraging words are written before I could gather my thoughts & opinions regarding mine or anyone's experience at Super G Mart!!! My personal reasons aren't hateful, perhaps a more of an advise for shoppers. This is mainly for management, because your store has always had a repulsive smell when you enter. And believe me I've been pretty much all around the world & not much surprises me. However, This has been an ongoing problem, and I'm pretty sure that you know the person who does your inspections otherwise you would have been closed down a long time ago! I don't know why your place never smells sanitary. Especially when you're selling "fresh" fish & crustaceans, and when you put cross-contamination and uncleanness, that is a terrible price to pay when you walk out of Super G Mart!!! I don't think your customers are trying to purchase a sickness at Super g Mart!!! Here's what you can expect to tell your doctor after purchasing any meat, poultry , or fish at Super G Mart (thank you management!): Norovirus , Salmonella, Clostridium perfringens, Campylobacter, &Staphylococcus aureus ...and no you can't find anything to help you with your terrible pains ,stomach aches ,and much worse on any of the over stacked shelves! Second, this made me absolutely livid, right before any holiday, the prices are hacked up to a dollar or more!!! So, advise you to shop at your farmers markets, small specialty stores that can order specialty items overseas. The owners are always kind pleasant to deal with and never had a problem with paying them an extra $. They're always pleasant if you need to exchange something and we'll even throw in a free item he made a huge purchase! Hey nothing is free these days and as a shoppers of diverse foods, we as a family, sincerely appreciate small stores that specialize in European, Asian , or any other imported foods!!! Super G Mart , MANAGEMENT, your store is something from a communist era...times are changing and it's time for you to appreciate your customers, and not...
Read moreI shop at Super G-Mart at least once a month. However, my recent visits have left me with mixed feelings.
Let's start with the positives. Super G-Mart boasts an impressive array of products from various countries, reflecting the rich diversity of Asian culinary traditions. From hard-to-find spices to specialty sauces and snacks, it's a treasure trove for adventurous cooks and enthusiasts alike. The staff is also generally friendly and helpful, adding to the welcoming atmosphere.
However, there's room for improvement, particularly in the freshness and quality of produce. On several occasions, I've been disappointed by wilted greens, bruised fruits, and overall lackluster quality in the produce section. This aspect is crucial as someone who values using fresh ingredients in my cooking. I sincerely hope that Super G-Mart recognizes the importance of prioritizing fresher produce to meet the expectations of discerning customers. I'm trying to be kind in this review but I cannot stress how terrible the produce was on my last visit.
Furthermore, while Super G-Mart holds a special place in the community as the only decent Asian grocery store in the area, it's clear that a remodel is long overdue. With competitors like H-Mart raising the bar with modern facilities and enticing layouts, Super G-Mart needs to catch up. A renovation could not only enhance the shopping experience but also attract new customers and retain existing ones.
In conclusion, Super G-Mart remains a valuable resource for Asian culinary essentials in our community. However, improvements in produce quality and a remodel are essential steps forward to remain competitive and continue serving its loyal customer base effectively. With dedication and investment, Super G-Mart has the potential to elevate its offerings and solidify its position as a beloved local...
Read moreNever had an issue after shopping here for over 12 years. Ordered a case of snow crabs today from the seafood dept. Asked the gentleman how much, he stated, "$340" I agreed to purchase. Waited upfront for them to meet me at the register and literally had to keep asking cashiers what was taking so long for them to bring the case? After, 3 attempts a gentleman finally walked it upfront and I noticed the price was set at $460. I told the lady in charge that I was quoted a different amount and then I noticed the tape across the box had been tampered with. I asked them to weigh the box with an understanding that I was misquoted, only to presented with an offer to give me a new box instead. Not only was I lied to about the price, but was also treated as if I was not intelligent enough to know they unethically took crab claws out of the box to refill what was on display. When I walked back to seafood dept with the manager, somehow magically fresh frozen hard claws were added from what had already been sitting there on display when I ordered the crabs. I asked to speak to the owner. My husband and I shop there every week for our personal and business items and spend alot of money and we simply wanted someone to make it right. The Asian guy that I was told was the GM was UNWILLING to make it right or APOLOGIZE! I told him we will never step foot back in their establishment and I left over $700 worth of products in the cart. I hope it was worth losing a committed and valuable customer. You are never too large of a business to reap...
