I recently visited this hair salon with high expectations, but unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. One major issue was that the hairdressers did not listen carefully to my specific requests. Despite clearly explaining what I wanted, the results did not match my expectations, which was frustrating. Communication was also difficult because many of the hairdressers have limited English proficiency, making it hard to clarify details or provide feedback effectively.

When I booked my appointment, I specifically requested the owner, a Korean lady, to cut my hair. She agreed at the time, but each visit I was assigned to her assistants instead. This felt misleading and diminished my trust in the salon’s service commitment. Additionally, the skill level of the stylists seemed mediocre at best; I honestly felt I could have done a better job cutting my own hair.

To make matters worse, I had to redo my haircut elsewhere because the style I received was not what I asked for and was poorly executed.

Another issue I noticed was the behavior of a male assistant, who appears to be Chinese. When he was not assisting clients, he talked loudly on his phone and loitered in the waiting area instead of staying out of sight or preparing for the next customer. This unprofessional conduct was allowed by the owner, which speaks volumes about the level of service and management at this salon. The owner should address this and encourage her staff to maintain a more professional environment.

Considering the price I paid, the service quality did not justify the cost. For a salon that promises professional care, the lack of personalized attention, clear communication, consistent expertise, and professional conduct was very disappointing. After searching for many hair salons in GSO, I decided to go with Mi Jee just because I'm more confident in having Asian people cutting my Asian hair.

The call for appointment was easy and quick. She didn't ask for my name or phone number and I was afraid she'd forget my appointment. I went there on time and she did remember and didn't have to wait. Found out that she jotted down her call in a phone book. Old school but effective ❤️

I wanted a cut and color. I showed her a few pics of my preference and just gave her roughly idea of what I wanted my hair to look like. I told her I wanted a brighter brown color and a layer cut.

She said color first which was a bit surprising to me because back home we usually cut hair before coloring. The coloring process was quicker than I thought but Mi Jee paid attention to every detail despite being super busy. After rinsing she applied a conditioner on my hair and waited on the rinsing bed for about 15 mins.

The cut was quick and very professional. She also did some styling for you at the end. Everything turned out perfectly. The color was just what I wanted and the cut was at the right length of what I needed 🥰

I'd definitely come back for a perm and more color when it's faded. I can't recommend Mi Jee enough. She's super friendly and made me feel at ease. All the customers are really nice as well. There was so many positive vibes in her place.

This is a decent place to get your hair done I am very picky with my hair and this place suffices it. Just make sure you specifically ask for mi jee. For guys at least, a man who cut my hair I was like oh someone else is cutting my hair? I’m a people pleaser so I said “ok” and sat. I showed him a picture and he said “ok”in the picture it was a bit of long hair I don’t like my hair short because it gets very bad cowlicks and sticks up to much. During the hair cut I couldn’t see of course no glasses so I just trusted the process later on when I put my glasses back on the guy legit cut my hair short especially in the back it was not how I intended it. It’s like what’s the point of showing the picture if you are going the complete opposite of it and the way he layered my hair was not the best I would not recommend him. But Mi jee has the hands for it because I kind of saw how the guy cuts and I think he may be still getting used to cutting but just ask for Mi Jee I liked my cut when...
