I honestly doubt this will be reviewed, but I am leaving it anyways. The individual with the fro (or natural hair) and the individual with the tie dyed shirt, thank you for being there. You two did your best in a busy and chaotic environment. I wanted to leave a bigger tip but there was no way just based on my overall experience. I hate not leaving a nice tip because these jobs don't pay enough. I have had to live off tips too, but I also worked hard to earn them. I have never left a tip that small before. I was really having the worst day and mentally not okay. I was trying to pick myself up out of a bad head space and coming here only made things worse. However, because of the 2 individuals mentioned, I'm leaving 2 stars instead of 1. First let me say that I was offended that the hostess sat me at the high top booth next to the bathroom. It smelled HORRIBLE. Like rancid. Like check under the floor because there might be a dead body rotting. I truly believe she knew what she was doing. I'm pretty sure anyone seated there complains and if you visit the ladies room right next to it, you quickly learn the source of the smell. The ladies room should never smell that horrific. It smells better in Popeyes across the street and they smoke in there. There were other seats so I moved myself and also shows that there were options for her to choose from. Sorry employees are just that. They won't go above and beyond unless being watched. I will also add that there were numerous people working but I felt ignored. If the individual with the fro hadn't acknowledged me, I was just going to leave within the next 2 minutes, which would have made 10 minutes of sitting watching employee after employee walk past me without even taking my drink order. I knew a refill wasn't happening, so I sipped slow on my $4 drink. It took 20 minutes approximately to receive my food. I ordered a half rack of ribs, mac & cheese, and fries. The ribs had nothing but sauce. They were in no way seasoned, but for the price I ate them (I'm far from rich, so no I wasn't wasting food). The fries were actually soggy. I tried to finish them but it was just easier to take the loss. The mac and cheese was okay, but could have used some salt. I used to come here a lot years ago, before life was turned upside down. This place used to be amazing. It's not the same. The food quality isn't worth the price anymore. The service used to be great. This was a real disappointment. My day didn't get better, and I'm out of $32...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Darryl’s Wood Fired Grill in Greensboro, NC, and it was a memorable experience. The restaurant’s ambiance is both inviting and unique, with its eclectic décor and warm atmosphere, reflecting its rich history as a North Carolina establishment since 1971.
Service: The service was exceptional. I was seated at a cozy single table towards the back, separated by a pole from the adjacent table, providing a sense of privacy. My server was attentive and pleasant, ensuring a comfortable dining experience. I visited on March 16, 2025, at noon, and although I can’t recall her name, I hope this detail helps the management recognize her excellent service.
Appetizer: I started with the Bacon & Cheese Tater Skins, which were perfect. These jumbo baked potatoes are crisp-fried and stuffed with cheddar and pepper jack cheese, real bacon, and scallions, then broiled until melty and bubbly, served with sour cream.
Main Course: For lunch, I ordered Darryl’s Roadside Chicken sandwich. This sandwich features a boneless marinated chicken breast grilled over hickory and glazed with zesty smoked BBQ sauce, topped with sautéed onions, applewood smoked bacon, and melted cheddar, served on a toasted bun with lettuce and tomato. The combination of flavors was delightful, with the BBQ sauce and perfectly cooked chicken complemented by the savory bacon. The sandwich came with seasoned French fries, which were slightly cold but still enjoyable.
Overall Experience: Despite the minor issue with the fries, my overall experience at Darryl’s was outstanding. The ambiance, attentive service, and delicious food make it a place I highly recommend and look forward to...
Read moreWe went to Darryl's after not receiving service at another restaurant after an A&T game. The hostess informed us to see her co hostess that we walked pass, he was taking reservations. We walked over to him and there was a lady and two young females in front of us being waited on. They finished and the co hostess walked off leaving us standing there. In the meantime a couple walks in and goes to the first hostess and checks in and the take a seat. Then a large group came in and went straight back and a few more groups the same. We are still waiting for the co hostess to return to where the first hostess told us to go. A family if about four or five came in and the hostess was checking them in and I looked at my friend and the lady that was in front of us looked at us and I had had my fill so I went over to the hostess and confronted her while she was helping the family. This hostess told me to wait while she helped this family. I was not hearing that. I explained to her that she sent us over there and he walked off. I inquired were he was and she said he had to do something. We went back and forth and I asked for the manager and she said he was busy. I walked into the restaurant and asked the first employee I saw for the manager and she told another employee and I told her I wanted to speak to the manager. I spoke with the manager who was apologetic and got us in and a complimentary appetizer which I was appreciative but I wanted corrective action. The hostess was rude and lacked customer service etiquette. But the manager and staff made up for her unprofessionalism. Rating would have been a zero but the actions of the manager and staff...
