First, the reason this review even got three stars; Popeye's chicken is good. I have not really seen or eaten at a Popeye's since I left my hometown of Denver, Colorado in the late 90s. This one opened within the last couple of weeks. They are not off to a good start. Here are some reasons I will not be going back.
We waited in the drive-thru for over 30 minutes. The only reason we did not leave is because we were blocked in by an 18-wheeler. Unacceptable. Cars in front of us and behind us had to maneuver to avoid a wreck in an effort to allow "flow-through" and "parked" traffic to get in and out of the parking lot. I have no idea who designed this parking lot, but its horrible. I have a couple of ideas for you. 1) how about having the flow through come in right in front at the entrance and flow through straight, then left (where the mulch beds are) instead of having traffic enter, go right, then left, then left again, blocking in the parking or flow-through traffic. 2) Switch the direction of the drive-through so that when cars enter, they turn left into the drive-through and have the traffic travel behind the restaurant from the other direction so that the front parked cars are not blocked in. There was an 18-wheeler blocking cars in and they couldn't leave. He was transferring food from his truck to a rented POD storage unit in the back of the store. This restaurant stores their food in a POD storage unit in the back of the store. My questions are 1)Is this sanitary and is it refrigerated? 2)Is the store that small that a storage system was not planned for? and 3) Aren't you all afraid someone is going to steal your food? After all, it is on Stick Up Road, oops I mean High Point Road. The customer service is horrible. While you were building and updating this store, were you not training personnel how to deliver good customer service? There were several cars in front of us and I heard the woman taking drive through order after drive through order while yelling, getting smart and just being plain rude to the customers. Fortunately, she was not rude to us. The large sides are not large at all.
The only thing I have to say is, Popeye's chicken is good. We most likely won't revisit, it's not worth all...
Read moreI visited this location both Friday and Saturday. Both times I was taking my aunt there. The customer service is terrible! The workers act like they don't want to work. Also, this place is more concerned about getting cars cleared from the drive thru than listening to the customer. Friday we were picking up an order for another family member. My aunt had never been to the restaurant chain. The person taking the order was monotone, rushed my aunt to order and had no personality. Yesterday, my aunt wanted to try what her son had the day before. The rep gave her a leaky cup of tea that went down her white t-shirt. My aunt let her know and the rep told her that the cup was not leaking. It might have been an overflow. She told her to drink down the liquid and make sure it wasn't anything on top. My aunt proceeds to show her that there was a hole in the bottom of the cup. Someone else came to the window and they were having a personal conversation about the cup. We had to suggest that the drink be made over. This time more tea was just dripping and she tried to hand this to us. She didn't want to wipe the cup and I think she filled it to overflow intentionally. I told her to sit the cup inside another cup which she eventually did. Customer service people!! You should never argue with a customer! Listen to their concerns! I promise you if that was my order I would have requested a refund and contacted corporate! Lastly, the person taking the order did not ask my aunt what sauce she wanted for her meal. We asked at the window. The girl put one sauce in there for 5 strips. Also, I personally don't like any of Popeyes food but we wanted to try the dessert. We ordered Beignets and the strawberry and cream cheese pie. The Beignets were a Beign-NO! The texture was hard. It reminded me of shredded wheat cereal. They were miniature and not what I see on the cooking channel. My aunt and the other family member trying it could not swallow theirs. The initial taste ruined it. The pie was ok....
Read moreDecided to try the chicken sandwich. Waited for about 15 min in drive thru, get my sandwich and it was old and cold. Took it inside and requested another FRESH sandwich. After receiving I checked it before leaving and was given another old and cold sandwich. At which time I told them the replaced sandwich was cold as well. I was then told that it was just the bread that was cold...I then requested my money back. The staff, manager included seemed to have a total unconcern for the fact that they had just given less that basic service and had served less than excetable food. Rude and unconcerned workers. I dont even want the sandwich now...
Update..6/1/21 This is still the worst Popeye's I've ever visited. The appearance is uncean. This Popeyes needs an entire makeover. Because I love Popeyes and sometimes have a taste for their food I'm forced to go to this one because its the closest to me. Every time I go its a bad experience. I've finally given up on getting fresh food and polite service from them. I bought a three piece today around lunch time. It tasted old and like it was cooked in dirty grease. The location makes the franchise look terrible. I went inside and they were loud and the communication was rude. they were bickering back and forth and the manager seems to care less. I happen to be in management and would definitely run a tighter ship. Starting with making sure they were neatly groomed and had clean uniforms. No loud bantering on the front line and the first sign of rudeness they would be out the door. People spend their hard earned money so they deserve...
