Arrived here around 11:25 PM on a Sunday evening. I was scrolling through Facebook when I saw an article about some Waffle House in Charlotte getting a B as their sanitation rating. I read the comments, and they were funny, as expected. I then developed a craving for food from there. I was being lazy, but the Bonnie decided to get up and go.
I went to the location on Randleman Rd first and it said to go only 9pm-6am. This one said the same but there were people sitting inside eating but it also looked like people were just ordering too. I contemplated going in first but eventually decided to around 11:38pm. There was a small line. So I just decided to sit at a table after waiting a couple minutes. At 11:43pm, a waitress asked if I was eating here and I said yes. She told another waitress that I would be hers but she said she was doing the other side? I’m not sure but she wasn’t wearing a name tag. At 11:46pm, the original waitress said she would be with me shortly. There was only 2 waitresses.
The waitress, “Shade”, took my order at 11:48pm. I for the Texas bacon cheesesteak melt with hashbrowns. I was greedy and also got a waffle with peanut butter chips. For my drink, I got an OJ, which is no refills.
While waiting, I decided to check their sanitization rating and it was a 93, which isn’t bad. People kept coming as I waited. There were tables that still needed to be clean but they were working hard.
I received my order at 12:06pm in a to-go container, LOL. “Shade” asked if that was fine and I said yeah. I was hungry and I didn’t wanna wait to move it, plus it wasn’t that serious. My table didn’t have ketchup and the bottle at the table next to me was empty. My waffle wasn’t ready until 12:09pm, which is when I asked for ketchup and got ketchup packets.
I started eating my food and it was merely warm… which is meh. The bacon was so dang crispy and delicious though! The hashbrowns were a little over cooked but tasted fine drenched in ketchup. My waffle was eh… it just didn’t taste quite right. I couldn’t discern if it was the waffle itself, the syrup, or the peanut butter chips. I got full anyway, so I only ate half of it.
When I finished, there was little wait for me to check out. 1 of the cooks and 1 of the waitresses had left to move their cars and didn’t come back, lol. Overall, I would say it was an average visit for...
Read moreSo I arrived at 1130 on 1/3/25 their was a dark skin gentle man working the grill along with a Caucasian gentle man than I later found out was the manager. I also figured out that the older dark-skinned lady that took my order had just started a couple days ago. Now you could tell that she was new but she was very polite and made sure we went over my order several times to make sure she wrote down correctly what I ordered. Mean while the two gentle men that where cooking kept berating her as if she was incompetent when if you looked at both of them you could tell they were both under the influence of something. Now there was another young lady that was helping take orders and she felt the same as the two gentleman not sure why because like I said before the lady that took my order was new and she made sure to go over my order with me and called it out correctly. But she felt the young lady did it wrong which was not the case because what she called out was my exact order yet they felt the need to make her feel like she did not know how to do her job properly. When she corrected the gentleman about making my food wrong he proceed to grab my eggs by his hand out of the previous and throw them in a container as well as put the extra steak i ordered for my sandwich that was over cooked and extremely dry in another container. Pretty sure they will try and write the new girl up but it definitely wasn't her fault it was the lack of professionalism on both the manager and the short order cooks part that caused me to go home with mediocre food tonight. And as for the young lady that took my order thank you for your patience and hospitality because that is what working in this industry is about making someone feel like you care about what you serve them as if they where family so don't get discouraged you have a bright future in...
Read moreI hate to be that person to complain, But since im a manager I had to share my experience. I visited this waffle house around 1 or 2pm on October 26th, 2023 and I was greeted and Me and my friend sat down. We were served and we ate our food. After about 15 minutes another customer came in that was apart of the LGBTQ community and they were told that there isn’t a cook around and that they needed to leave. Then the server proceeded to talk on the phone with their friend I assume, she just talked about the persons appearance and how it was un-natural. I understand that cooks may take breaks, But what bothered me the most is that The server was talking on the phone with someone and said blatantly “I can also cook the food but I just don’t want to”. Other people came in afterwards and she still just turned them away. Not only are you being rude to customers but you’re also letting money walk out the door. Me being a manager had to say something because this is not what customer service is about. Hopefully the right person reads this because I couldn’t find a way to complain on...
