We really should have heeded the warnings of all the other reviews on this place before we decided to have lunch here today. The only positive experience we had was server was very nice and attentive. We had a coupon from the Attractions book for another Denny's location and the server asked the manager if we could use it and the manager said we could.
I ordered their version of a breakfast burger with the bacon cheese tots. I ordered it with a well done fried egg, when it came out I cut the burger in half and the egg yoke oozed out all over the burger. I send the burger back and when it is brought back out the bacon cheese tots were burnt. Since they were burnt I requested a new order of them as well.
When we finished eating I went to pay and presented the coupon. The cashier went to the manager to get an override for the coupon and she came back out and said the manager said we couldn't use it because it was for a different location. I paid and went back to the table and asked for a manager.
I explained to the female blond manager we tried to use the coupon and she said we couldn't use it because it's for another location. Then the server speaks up and says "Mr. Sam said they could use it.". I continue to explain the server was great, but the food experience was terrible and proceeded to tell her all that happened. She apologized and continued to tell me they have customers that return all the time (FYI.. I don't care, and it sounds like she didn't care about my poor experience at all). Then she said "You can't expect your experience here to be perfect." I immediately laughed and told her I was embarrassed for her for saying that to a customer. Her job is to make sure customers have a perfect experience in the restaurant and that clearly her staff, including herself need some serious training.
Do yourself a favor and go to another restaurant, don't waste your money here. There are much better breakfast, lunch, and dinner establishments in Greensboro and the food and staff are more prepared to give you a "perfect" experience, and I bet if you don't their managers are better at correcting and handling your concerns without giving excuses and telling you they have so many repeat customers.    Read moreI was so excited about Greensboro getting another Denny's after the one by the Emerald Pointe closed. I suggested having a staff mtg there and it was nice. Skillet was great, bathrooms were clean, waitress was pleasant. However, the following week my boyfriend stopped by to grab items at the beauty supply store across the parking lot where I felt a sudden urge to use the restroom. With the Beauty Supply Store not having a public restroom I ran over to Denny's, remembering that the bathrooms were clean, where I was immediately approached by a white male with red hair with his arms out, who appeared to be the manager, asking me what i needed. I stated "Oh i just have to use the restroom." He stated "No you may not" I'm like... huh? Do i need to buy something? I'll buy a drink. He's like sure. Only to realize I left my wallet in the car and only had a dollar in my pocket, as I do not like to carry cash. There was only one family in the restaurant and all the employees were sitting at a table in the front eating. I told him "Sir, I really have to go I'll come buy something afterwards." He stated No you may not, approaching me with his arms wide and said You need to leave now. I ran across to the cowboy boot store where the rep was very pleasant and had no issue at all with me using the restroom. I returned to Denny's to ask for the number to corporate where he seemed glad to give me the owner's information, displaying an attitude of superiorness. I told the guy that I understood the concept but i did not appreciate how rude he was and it was very unnecessary. He got up and walked towards me like he was gonna push me out the door and said he was calling the police lol. While walking out I told him he was miserable and I hoped he could find a job that will change his attitude. He yells out the door "Well at least I have money" lol Wow so professional. I called and talked to the owner Mary since it is a franchise and she said she would talk to him and follow up with me. Never did. This is what i despise about franchises. They feel like they can do what they want and they do not model the actual companies values. Haven't been back since and do not...
Read moreI visited this location yesterday with a friend. There was an initial greeting while entering the restaurant which was nice. The woman who greeted us was working on silverware and told us to sit in a particular section. We did and she asked us what we wanted to drink. I asked her name 3 times before her stating that her name was Fran. I think Fransisco was on my receipt. It's important for me to establish a rapport with my server. She should have stated her name first! We stated what we wanted to drink and Fran rushed us to order because she stated that it was the end of her shift and she had different tasks to do. We both ordered. My food was meh! Everything was an upcharge such as cheese. I asked for a side of avocado with my order and she mentioned again this upcharge. I was fine with the upcharge. She stated that the avocados were hard. Huh?! Where is the fresh produce? Also, when our food came out we did not have silverware, napkins etc. We had to inquire about it. Fran did not ask my friend what they wanted on their burger such as mustard, mayo etc. nor the temperature of how they wanted it cooked. She did not come over to refill drinks. How is tea less than a soda? The container for the condiments did not have pepper. The hot sauce bottle was overturned. I asked for sugar free syrup for my pancakes and it was a little bit in the bottle so my friend got the full bottle off of another table. She asked why this was done as syrup was on the table. I answered her question that should not have even been asked to me. Lastly, when I asked for a box and the receipt, I was not told to pay up front. I left a tip (whatever cash that I had) on the table. I did not have enough in my account to tip whatever recommended amount when using my debit card. She disappeared and I guess she checked the table to see if I left a tip since I recorded no tip to be added on my debit card. She came back and in a sarcastic way to thank me for her tip. I told her that it was on the table and she said she knew. I personally didn't believe she deserved a tip but I was not going to be mean. Be grateful for anything. I seriously doubt that I...
