I lovingly refer to indulgent Asian dishes like General Tso or Mei Fun as, “shtty Chinese,” not because it’s bad, but because it’s not good for no matter how happy it makes you. Tonight, that statement became an unfortunate reality at Fuji. The satay chicken app is just teriyaki chicken or as we all more affectionately know it as chicken-on-a-stick. There was no peanut sauce to justify calling it satay. The provided sauce seemed to be a basic hibachi sauce. It tasted of nothing but chicken base and soy. The Sesame Chicken was the same. A third of the way through, I packed and trashed it. Unintentionally, I tries their fried rice. I ordered steamed rice and ended up with a soy drenched, unpalatable alternative. Fried rice usually involves goodies like butter, egg, onions, and a variety of tasty tidbits. All the good was gone. Three bites of it and I had enough. This was my first and last attempt with Fuji. Back to the “shtty Chinese” that makes life better not worse. But for now, I’ll live with regret and indigestion.
UPDATE: This restaurant was given an opportunity to make things right through the food delivery service and failed to respond. Had I went and picked this up myself, I would have paid less but lost all that I paid. I promise you there is better food right around the corner from here, in multiple places with...
Read moreYou would expect this to be a normal "hole in the wall type of restaurant." It has some of the typical tchotchkes you find in an Asian restaurant of this type but that's where it stops. I'm not sure what this place served before the current owners took over, but the space is comfortable and is very clean. Furniture and signage are showing age. The people are very friendly, and it's obvious that they are proud of what they do. The chef even came out to point out that there was no MSG in any of their food even without my asking. Tasty, and lighter than stereotypical "Chinese food," in fact it's closer to the syle you might find in a Thai...
Read moreNope. Don't even go. The cook was digging in the food to take it to the grill to cook, without gloves on his hands. The main guy was making an excuse "he is taking it to the grill to cook". Still, the fella cooking is DIGGING IN THE FOOD WOTHOUT GLOVES. Then i get home and my whole order was wrong. I have witnessed a partial inspection while there in 2021 and they were asked to place the plastic ware and cups behind the counter just incase someone happens to sneeze or what not. I went back this time thinking things would be better and the cups and plastic ware is back out front. They do not follow health codes. It's not worth...
