We came during dinner on a Saturday evening. It was very busy, truthfully. I was surprised at the freshness of our food regardless of how busy it was. The vegetarian menu was full of choices and basically anything you ordered could be made vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free. The staff was nice, but busy. Each time a waitress would ask if we were ok, she would be trying to prematurely walk away as if to say, oh please don't ask for anything else. Thank God for that boy coming to our rescue. Nice, thin, guy with black hair and beard trimmed neatly. The chicken souvlaki was to die for! It was very tender, very flavorful and my husband ordered 2 more! The hummus, good flavor but really cold. The falafel, definitely left something to be desired. The pastitio with bechamel was to die for! Big salad! And awesome balsamic vinegarette! The grape leaves (domades) were canned so don't waste your money. Tzatiki was good. Spanakopita was ok, but not like mine at home. Gyro meat was good and tender with thorough seasonings . Parking was easy to access for handicap but could definitely be a problem for someone without a handicap placard, especially during rush hours. The environment was excellent. The bathrooms were decent and had tissue as well as being cleaned. The business owner definitely has a lot of restaurant experience and knows how to utilize his help and resources. The 2 young ladies that I mentioned had little personality to begin with. I know... you say, "You didn't go to be treated like a queen.." my answer to you? No. You're right . I didn't. Queens get high treatment because they are queens. I paid over $90 for 4 people, so I deserved to be have my plates moved from the middle of the table before the end of our meal. Anyway, I still gave it 5 stars because everything else was so great. The food, parking, menu, freshness, taste, cleanliness, and most of the staff. I tipped the young man separate and left the other girls a tip to split. They helped each other out tremendously, though. Therefore, taking a star away was not an option for me. It was a great eating experience and I enjoyed our trip to Greensboro. We plan to come back when back in the area. We hope that the 2 ladies (blonde and strawberry blonde) will grow up a little bit and remember that we are paying customers. We do not ask for free meals. Therefore, courtesy without being rushed should be a bare minimal matter to grant to the customer. Don't hesitate to stop and eat here....
Read moreDelicious food and fantastic staff, but one serious misstep deserves to be addressed.
Mythos Grill has quickly become a favorite. The food is delicious; crispy, golden fries, grilled chicken done right, and a Philly cheesesteak my son claims is the best around.
Mary, who has helped us twice, is an absolute gem. She double-checks the order, confirms it on-screen, and offers a level of customer care that’s sadly rare these days. On our second visit, Jake was also present and ready to assist. Both of them create a warm, welcoming experience that deserves high praise.
However, our second visit was tainted by one disappointing and frankly concerning incident.
My sandwich was made incorrectly (onions, which I absolutely despise), so I walked back in, calmly, to request a fix. Mistakes happen. No big deal. But what happened next? Definitely a big deal.
I overheard the young woman near the kitchen window tell staff to just “take the onions off” and send the sandwich back out. Not remake it. Not replace the bun or tomato. Just… remove the onion and pretend it never happened. That alone would’ve been enough to make me rethink coming back. The health department would not be okay with that, and neither are those of us with sensory sensitivities or allergies. The flavor would’ve still been ruined.
But it got worse.
When she handed me the corrected order, she lied - claiming the mistake was because it was "rung up wrong." Except I saw Mary enter it correctly. So did my son. This employee tried to blame the wrong person, right to my face, in front of others; a teammate who had done everything right.
The manager came over with a customer-service smile and a vague “it won’t happen again,” but I hope that means retraining, not just damage control.
We’ll still return. The food is solid, and Mary alone is worth it. But I sincerely hope this young staffer learns to take true accountability. Don't blame your coworkers. Don't try to pass off altered food. And don’t assume customers don’t notice.
This review brought to you by the letter O - for Onion, which I never ordered and still nearly...
Read moreFrom the moment I walked in the door at Mythos Grill, 3900 West Market Street, Greensboro, NC, I was beyond impressed! The interior is beautiful and clean, and the staff is super friendly. Chris was my server, and I cannot begin to express the level of outstanding service he provided to me. He was genuinely nice and attentive to every need. Of the many restaurants I have frequented, Chris sets the bar for all servers. It is obvious that he genuinely cares about the patrons and ensures everything is just right for them. The owner/manager was equally as nice and appreciative of my business. I was so impressed that I returned again a week later (from Boone, NC) to eat again, and this time took a friend. The second time around, I experienced the same level of outstanding service and excellent food as the first time. I highly recommend Mythos Grill, West Market Street, to everyone!!! Just give it a try and share the same pleasant dining experience that I did. I was fortunate to have Chris as my server the same time as well. He never missed a beat in his level of perfection. It is very gratifying when you walk away from such an outstanding experience. I have been raving about Mythos to my friends. I had the grill chicken Greek salad both times. It is fresh and mouthwatering good. The house made dressing is excellent. On my next visit, I plan to have their baked spaghetti. I understand that it is a popular favorite, and I can see why from the way it looked on the table next to me. Mythos also makes their own recipe of marinara sauce. I just wish we had...
