Food: The food was delicious and very cheap! My husband and I ordered a Hawaiian sun can for each of us, an order of Miso soup, an order of Takoyaki, an order of Mochiko chicken, and order of Tonkotsu ramen. All of this, was under $35. The sodas were what I always like in a drink when it’s hot outside. They were very light, fruity and sweet but not too sweet. The Miso soup was wonderful. I’m very picky with Miso soup because a lot of places will have a very watery broth, but Qinji’s Miso was just the right consistency! The Miso soup’s taste was herbal and very soothing. The Miso was also my husband’s favorite. I’ve never tried Takoyaki before and was blown away! The Takoyaki was very savory and melted in your mouth. The the Mochiko chicken good. Slightly chewy in some parts but the sauce on top was sooo yummy! It was savory and tangy. And lastly, the Tonkotsu ramen. People in the comments say it’s the best ramen in Greensboro…. Say that because they’re 100% right! The egg was cooked perfectly, the pork melted in your mouth, the bamboo shoots were cooked perfectly, and the broth was soooo tasty! It’s not too strong without being bland. Perfect balance of flavor! It’s so unfortunate that I don’t have a larger stomach so I could eat more of their delicious food. The ramen was my favorite and the miso was my runner up.
Service: The people working up front seemed to be a younger wait staff and what seemed to be the owner. The lady who seemed to be the owner was the one who took care of us today. She gave lovely recommendations when I asked and over all was super hospitable and friendly.
Atmosphere: I felt very comfortable! It felt very cozy and homey. We will definitely be back as this will be one of our new favorite restaurants to dine-in! Thank you so much for such wonderful...
Read moreUpdate: I have ordered three days in a row. Today im having their tonkotsu ramen for linch at work and its so divine. I know if I tried this first I wouldn't have tried anything else. Anyway, I am now addicted to this restaurant 😂 proceed with caution I had the Zasai last night. It was salty and spicy and delicious. I wasn't sure what it was sp I called to ask and was simply told that it's less sweet and more spicy than the Tan Tan. SOLD. It was delicious. And I had leftover kimchi from the night before. So good. Im sick right now and this broth is making my life worth living another day.😂
04/01/2025 I got the Tan Tan with an additional side of kimchi. It's absolutely perfect ramen. I didn't know what to expect. Its rich broth, that coats springy, firm noodles, and delicious, tender fatty, smoky, well seasoned pork belly. The kimchi is delightfully spicy and adds the perfect tangy kick. It was well packaged and separated to prevent soggy noodles. Listen to the instructions. Heat your broth. It's phenomenal when it's hot. The pollen count is high, and I needed a soothing bowl with all the sneezing and hacking I've been doing today, lol. This was the perfect solution. I will sleep so well tonight. And I think I may visit on Thursday if I have the chance to come by before I head back home. Thank you, Qinji! Delivery was amazing, so I'm sure they're much better in-house. Definitely WAY (like by MILES) better than most of the other ramen spots in the area. Hit this place first, and you'll save time and money being disappointed at other places in the area (sorry, not sorry😂🫶🏽). And don't skip the Hawaiian Sun!...
Read moreOur group of four ended up at Qinji when the wait at Mizumi proved too long, but this proved to be the epitome of a happy accident. Cosmetically, Qinji is quite an upgrade from the previous ZC Hawaiian: the interior is tasteful and clean. The menu boasts many tantalizing options from predominantly Japanese apps to more than ten kinds of ramen to rice and noodle dishes to Hawaiian specialties. Vegetarians won’t be hard-pressed to find something here though the meat-eaters among you can take in everything from kalbi to Spam.
It was the first visit for all of us, and we got to experience a variety of dishes: calamari, Takoyaki, spam musubi, veggie roll, Hawaiian pineapple chicken, loco moco, and a combo (katsu fried shrimp and fish and grilled beef). Portions were plentiful, and, as the entrees included rice and salad (green or macaroni) for under $15, quite affordable. While the musubi and the loco moco may conjure some odd associations for anyone who grew up with Spam or Salisbury steak, the food was largely a hit. The beef was flavorful, the seafood was well-breaded without being bone dry, and the dipping sauces complemented the apps nicely. Even though the green salad was little more than lettuce with a few shredded carrots, a terrific mango dressing (bright, crisp, and citrusy) elevated it.
Qinji is nowhere close to home, and while that may preclude me from becoming a regular here, it is definitely a place I will look forward to coming back to during future excursions to...
