As a fan of both bad puns and good seafood, I was bound to end up here sooner or later. When a po boy craving struck, I remembered the name and decided to give Shrimply Delicious a try. It wasn’t an entirely regrettable decision, but I don’t think I’ll be back.
Shrimply Delicious is a smallish space, and the tables in their dining area are packed somewhat closely together. This is a non-issue if you’re seeking takeout, of course, but if you’re looking to dine in, it may get a bit crowded. The menu boasts shrimp and fish baskets (with sides and drinks), fish sandwiches, and po boys. You won’t find any surprises, but there’s something to be said for staying on-brand.
I opted for a shrimp and catfish po boy to go. At $12.75, it was priced roughly between 42 Fry and Full Moon’s versions. The staff here are hard-working, but they were getting slammed with to-go orders, and so I had a longer-than-expected wait (albeit not unreasonably so).
Positives first: the sandwich was large, and the shrimp and fish were breaded and cooked well. Nothing tasted greasy. That said, the fish was fairly salty, the remoulade so-so, and the bread was a lackluster generic sub roll.
This isn’t the worst rendition of a po boy that I had, but it’s far from the best. Ultimately, Shrimply Delicious proved to be...
Read moreI ordered curbside. I picked it up and drove off before realizing they didn't give me my drink. I returned and called the store to inform them so they could bring it out. They immediately put me on hold. She didn't come back to the line, so I hung up and called again. Yet again, I was immediately placed on hold. I called them back AGAIN, and tried to tell her quickly that I just want my drink that I paid for, before she put me on hold again. She then asked me to come inside to get my drink. I told her I have an injury and can't come into the restaurant, and she sounded annoyed while asking the type of car I was driving. When I told her my car info, she hung up on me. No "sorry for the inconvenience," "we'll be right out," just CLICK. The girl who finally brought my drink outside handed it to me with an attitude. First of all, if your establishment offers curbside service, you should accommodate curbside customers. If you don't have the staff to bring out curbside orders, then don't offer curbside. Secondly, how are you going to get an attitude with ME, when YOU are the one who got my order wrong. I'm just a customer trying to get what I paid for, which apparently is an inconvenience for them. I would NOT recommend this place. Terrible...
Read moreI found Shrimply Delicious on Google maps, and would find it Shrimply Irresistible! Figured I'd satisfy my seafood craving by stopping in, just for the halibut! (Okay, no more nautical puns) I was actually craving a decent shrimp po' boy, and was pleasantly surprised by this find. Shrimply Delicious looks to be a small local restaurant; tastefully designed and innocuous; with a very friendly and helpful staff, and fresh, delicious food. I ordered the Shrimp & Crab PoBoy Combo w/ slaw, and a sweet tea (bottled drinks are in the dining area's cooler). Since I'd asked permission to take pics for this review, I was asked if I'd like to photograph my sandwich before they 'closed up', which I appriciated (and took advantage of), and I was pleased with the personal attention I received during my experience. As for the food; my PoBoy was perfectly prepared, with a perfect balance of shrimp, crab, veggies (lettuce and tomato) and a subtly spicy sauce. The slaw was creamy and flavorful, and seemed to have a citrus-like flavor...I really enjoyed that. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience, and encourage you to give Shrimply...
