Very good overall. I ordered all you can eat sushi. You're given a pencil and paper to mark your orders on two pieces of paper. You're then given your order and a fresh paper to mark your next order that gets picked up once you consume your delivered order. Pretty straightforward and efficient system. You're also given an order of house Saki, warm or cold, upon request as part of the all you can eat that can be shared amongst the other people at the table that also ordered the all you can eat. I started out with an order of miso, aged tofu, one hand roll of avocado/cucumber and a regular roll of the same variety. Miso came first and was excellent. Tofu had a nice crispy outside and airy inside. Rolls were well made without any loose ingredients and held well. The hand roll was quite large and didn't spare ingredients. Ordered the house Saki cold and another round of rolls and miso. Sweet potato and avocado/cucumber. I personally am not a fan of Saki, but my dining partner said it was decent so I'll take his word. Sweet potato rolls were also good, with the eel sauce being great on it. Staff were attentive and didn't harass you, which is always nice. The atmosphere was good. One of the dinner parties was extremely loud, but that's out of control of the establishment. Once they left, things were quiet and warm generally. They have more private seating by candle light as well up some stairs from the main dining area. Male restroom was clean, fully functioning facilities. The rest of the restaurant was clean, as well as the dining ware. Would recommend.

To the owner— expand your location !! This concept is a money maker, especially with the quality Mizumi offers. My sister introduced me to this local sushi buffet in Greensboro. It is a hidden gem for me, quite small and not located in a busy area. We arrived a little before 5pm and there was a line outside the door! That says great things itself. If you catch them early enough, you’re offered table or floor seating which I found very unique. Once sat, your entire party begin to order on a sheet of piece. The menu is pretty large offering soups, salads, appetizers, and a ton of sushi. I wasn’t the biggest of this because as you’re given a two hour limit (very reasonable) ordering more depends on when your server comes back around. You also cannot visualize what you’re ordering. A huge red flag for me was the additional charge warned if any food is leftover— at a buffet styled restaurant that is far from reasonable. Basically force down what is left over or pay on top of the buffet you paid for. So be mindful of that. Order what you’re familiar with because you will not have the opportunity to explore different sushi. On the bright side their food was delicious! Sushi rolls were huge, hibachi was seasoned perfectly, and love their crab rangoon. I have been planning to make another visit very soon. I do advise visiting soon as they open or you will be waiting for quite some time Pros: - Quality dishes - All you can eat Cons: - Wait times - Additional charge for leftover - Price per person - Confined space

Very friendly and professional staff. Very nice atmosphere, too. I’m here on a business trip and just wanted to take my food back to the hotel but I overheard that the waiting time was over 3 hours tonight - that goes to show how popular this restaurant is. And all that food for $27.00 - beer not included. Not bad at all! Fish was very fresh and pretty tasty. And rice was nicely cooked and sushi was shaped/molded nicely - very tasty looking indeed! However, this was not sushi - the rice didn’t have enough sushi vinegar. So it was like eating raw fish over onigiri (rice ball). You got to remember that the heart and soul of sushi is “sushi (vinegar rice) rice”. If sushi chef of this restaurant can improve that, I’d give this restaurant 5 stars for sure. I’m updating my review to 4 stars from 3 stars because I ordered the same thing today (Sushi Deluxe) and it was very delicious. I’m not sure if they got a new sushi chef or they improved on sushi rice preparation but sushi rice was prepared well and it was made in to Nigiri in a very good manner - not too tight (hard) not too soft so when you pop it in your mouth, it falls apart without having to chew too much. Sashimi was cut very appropriately not too thick not too think. It just was delicious. And they offer all you can eat sushi for less than $30 per person that includes all you can eat Sashimi? I so wish I lived in Greensboro! I highly recommend this restaurant!

If I could have a negative review for service I would. This is now the third time that I have had to wait over an hour to order my second round of sushi But did I get rude or snappy then? No, I did not. I now have a sleepy toddler , who has knocked over water, twice. The guy has not come back to check not one single time within this 45 minutes to an hour. We watch the tables that came in after us get their food before us . My daughter made a comment about it . Naturally, being in the service, I tell her they may have ordered first no big deal. so after the second time he spills his water, (which if anyone knows my son, he’s usually not clumsy and pretty quiet toddler) I went up and asked someone if I could just get some to go boxes assuming that my second order had already been placed … and grab my check. Another 15-20 minutes later he brings the box and said are you going to order takeout? I said no, we haven’t even got to my second round of sushi yet. I’m just asking because of how long it took to take it to go. He replies with an attitude that’s not how this works. If you want to take food to go you have to order a takeout order and pay for it that way. I said seriously I have waited over an hour here, I really can’t keep my toddler occupied anymore. It’s taken this long. Can I please just get my order to go? So then, I said you know what never mind I’m just gonna go talk to somebody else He proceeded to get an attitude with me again as I’m trying to talk to someone else who could help me here, and says well you saw I was with other people, I was busy and I had things to do, you never gave me your second ticket. I said you never asked for it or asked if we were ready to order again Then he rolls his eyes and looks at the other girl and said can you take care of this? Then the girl said what seems to be the problem I tell her and say I’m just ready to go. I just need my check at this point. I’m just not gonna come back. She says I can try to help. I just need to know the issue. Which I tell her again so then she asked what we ordered for the first round(confused on how that matters honestly because we never got checked on for the second round) She takes my bill walks away. Call somebody and says we took 20% off the bill. I said I didn’t even ask you to do that. I just wanted to get my check and leave at this point. I’m not coming back. This is the first time in my life after 15 years in this service industry that I tipped nothing. Typically I tip really well, 40%+ considering my toddler comes with extra work and complications. Anyone who has been inside Mizumi’s knows it’s small and crowded and trying to keep my toddler occupied for their benefit was getting more than I could handle … The fact that it took 15 to 20 extra minutes just to get my to go boxes and he still didn’t bring me my check. Another reason I got upset and decided to speak to someone else whose was less busy. As someone in the service industry I am appalled at how I was treated today. Especially as a mom with two children with me trying to spend time with them. Not saying that gives me any special treatment but it would have been more convenient for everyone just to be more attentive to our needs so we could...

Bottom line: We love Mizumi! The food is fantastic and they are great with their customers. Make sure to get your frequent guest card so you can get comped for a free meal when you fill up your card. We have a couple of family members with gluten sensitivity and the staff accommodate our requests to avoid cross contamination. We have grown to trust this place as a result and it continues to be one of our “go to” favorites in Greensboro.

Additionally, be prepared for an hour wait most of the time during peak dinner hours (5:30 pm to 7:30 pm). Also be prepared to be told you’ll have an hour wait, even if the wait is 20 minutes (true story - keep reading).

We recently went and were told the wait would be an hour (as usual). Sometimes that means 1 hour and 10 minutes, sometimes it means 50 minutes. That is totally reasonable in my opinion. The way we handle this standard wait time is by heading over to Bull City Ciderworks - such a great spot (especially if you have issues with gluten since all ciders are gluten-free). That said, my wife and I were just settling in to our beverages and we get the call from Mizumi that our table is ready. No joke, that hour long wait was 20 minutes. So while that was fantastic because we were hungry, it wasn’t so great because, although the State Street business district allows for open containers while walking around in the area (which is awesome and such a great perk for this quaint little shopping and food area - truly a hidden gem in Greensboro), there simply is not enough time to leisurely stroll and sip on your beverage and finish it without chugging if you’re walking door to door.

That said, after that little issue, our experience was as great as it usually is and we are thankful to have found this lovely sushi spot in Greensboro.

Another pro tip is that the all you can eat menu is prorated for kids. As long as you do not waste food, this is a fantastic opportunity to get your kids to try sushi without the risk of spending a ton of money on something they may end up not liking. Also plenty of kid friendly kitchen (non fish) options available if the kids aren’t totally ready for the...

Getting in took 25 mins which wasn’t bad. We were seated and the server took 5 mins to greet and get our drink order. We were done with our sheets and left it at the corner of the table so the server could see/get it easier. My friend ordered a beer and he didn’t get it until half of the appetizers were out. The red snapper appetizer looked really messy and it made me not want to eat it. Ikura was good. Friend ordered a hibachi dinner and he never got it. The server never came and checked up on us, and when she did come she asked if we were ready for the check and didn’t even realize that he never got his hibachi dinner along with the sweet potato roll. We ordered a second round which came out faster than the first. We also ordered ice cream so we asked again and when the server that brought it she brought out the only flavor we didn’t order (we ordered 2 vanilla and 1 matcha, we got 1 red bean). When we told the server we didn’t order that she looked confused saying we did. So we told her our order and she said she’d bring it out right away and we still never got it. Our area was very crammed and really loud. After we got our checks, no one came and grabbed it so we just walked up to the front to pay. Mind you our check books are placed on the edge of the table with our cards sticking out and there were servers coming in and out. Honestly my friend who never got his hibachi should have gotten a discount. Don’t recommend coming here at all. We also didn’t get the free sake that should have came with the AYCE.

Update: not even an hour of leaving this place my friends and I are all having diarrhea. I’m from Japan and my husband is Korean. We eat sushi all the time and this is the first time this has...
