Not my favorite location I don’t usually frequent this location in Greensboro so maybe that’s why I always feel like I’m having a negative experience. As I looked over the five-star ratings, I asked myself am I overreacting? Am I misinterpreting? No, I’ve had this experience several times now. The last time I walked into the store, a week ago (yes, this experience has bothered me THAT much) the clerk looked at me like my picture was up on the break room wall for shoplifting (it is most definitely NOT). It was very strange. She greeted me, but her body language was very apprehensive and her eyes followed me suspiciously. I have a youthful face and I understand getting carded but this leads to my main grievance. This has happened at this location multiple times now. I got to the counter and instead of just looking at my ID, the clerk took it from me and scanned it in. A time before a clerk took my ID, flipped it over, and typed in something. I didn’t see this happen to anyone else. Matter of fact, a guy in the lane beside me was carded but the clerk just looked at his ID. Meanwhile, I’m getting scanned and monitored like I’m going through TSA. I felt like I was being treated differently at this location, and this time my feelings were validated because I was. I don’t know if this is how they’re trained to handle folks or if it’s protocol to scan for some and check for others but since it’s happened MULTIPLE times now, I probably will not be back. I’m a firm believer in not spending my money where my business is not appreciated. Or spending my money where I feel like I'm being mistreated. What a shame because judging from the reviews, some people get nice service here. I wonder why my experiences with this location are so poor?
I will be reaching out to corporate. Hopefully they can have the staff come in early for some training on customer service or how to treat all customers...
Read moreWell a few years ago I had a bad experience at their wine tasting, the gentleman was allowing a lady to taste, and refused to allow me to taste. When I mentioned it to the store manager he stated she had a special order, well for that matter I could have had a special order as well. Bad taste for customer service. OK so today, another BAD experience, I am a woman of color and I again walked to the wine tasting counter, the lady was helping a gentleman (white) it took her over a minute to acknowledge me. So when he walked off she looks at me, not happy but begrudgingly, and says what do you like? I stated I came to taste, she poured me a taste, I drank it. A white lady walks up she starts a conversation with her and completely treats me as if I am not there. I walked off and as I was leaving the store, I refused to spend my money there a lady at the customer service counter said did you receive any help? I responded by saying an employee in your store needs sensitivity training. I explained to her what happened and I could tell she was sad, and she said what can I do? I responded sensitivity training. I do not expect a lot and never want or need preferential treatment but I am "NOT" going to spend my money in a store that treats me badly without respect. I went to Food Lion and paid $5 MORE for a bottle of Josh and was happy to do it. I was there 1/31/20...
Read moreI’m never greeted or interacted with in a legitimate manner, people doing the wine tastings never interact with me either even when I look straight at them. I guess you want to stop minors while profiling and heavily-discouraging people who appear young from doing business here, but it’s really ridiculous when I’m far beyond 21 and just have to accept that I’m going to not be helped here. The cashier was pretty rude to all customers, no matter their age, and a coupon deal specific to my wine did not work, or he didn’t help me activate it.
I want the 20% applied to that wine. I filled out the survey. I want your employees or whoever does the tastings to stop interacting with only old white people and to be forced to interact with me as well. As in, force them to interact with me and engage in wine tastings. I’d have no idea how to obtain or force that interaction myself. And I have an online account, for God’s sake, lay off and actually treat me like the...
