I have been here before and really had a great experience. I cannot say the same for this time around. My friend and I left work and went straight to Cold stone as a treat. It was around 9:30 when we pulled up. First thing I noticed was a girl had just finishing mopping and there was a black beetle crawing across the floor. It struck me weird because she had just finished mopping and the floor was still wet. How did she miss the bug. Anyways I wasn't super bothered by that. Just something I noticed. They were accommodating towards my peanut allergy and made my ice cream in the back. But then it was my friends turn and we were just awkwardly standing there while a worker was doing all the closing duties. She was barely acknowledging that there was another customer waiting. I dont know the policy but she then started putting the waffle cone bowls in a trash bag that was to be left for what I thought the next day. That struck me as odd and gross. My friend finally asked her for a sample and she acted like she couldn't do it. Kind of sorta like that wasnt her job to do at that very moment and she couldn't possibly help a customer. But she got our sample and went back to closing duties.. and again we waited.. then she said shed get the girl making mine from the back to help my friend. And so that girl came out and just starred at my friend for a solid 3 seconds and my friend said "can I order now?" She said with a tad of sass " I'm not done with hers yet" it was just an awkward and weird exchange. Meanwhile there are 3 people in line behind us just waiting to be helped while 2 girls do closing duties and the other makes my ice cream in the back. We finally got our ice cream and sat outside. The whole transaction was about 10-15 minutes when it could of easily taken 5. While we were eating outside the other 3 came out and were saying how it didn't need to take 15 minutes to make ice cream, they seemed annoyed. I don't write reviews often but this one deserves a review. If you have customers in the store, your focus should be on them and not closing.. closing duties are for when you are closed or there is noone to help. I work retail and we all know that where I work the customer comes first. Didn't feel that way this time around at Cold Stone. Hope they change...
Read moreI went last night to pick up ice cream for my kids to take home from their freezer out front because I had a gift card. Neither of the girls working seemed to know what they were doing. I asked about the cakes in the freezer. One girl said she was new and the other one just stared at me after she came over and I was like can you tell me about the cakes? She said what? I said how about prices? Then she just pointed to the price list at the top of the cooler that I had failed to see. I tried to use my gift card after and they simply just told me "Yeah, these cards don't work. We don't know why." I was a little dumb founded. I asked about purchasing the 2 quarts of ice cream through the website instead with the gift card or if that was possible. I asked if it was even possible to order online like that. They were at a complete loss and said they didn't know if you could order online. You can btw. I ended up paying 23 dollars for 2 quarts of ice cream and not using the gift card. Well, tonight’s service left a lot to be desired. Yes, I have been ordering the same thing for almost 10 years. And yes, it requires a little work to mix in what I want. But again, that is why I love having custom ice cream. Not only was she bothered with my double mix in. She was even more bothered when I asked her to add another mix in because it was not being mixed to my satisfaction. This was the first time, that I had ever been asked if I want a spoon. When my ice cream was placed in a cup. How else am I supposed to eat it. And I asked for it to go with my waffle bowl on the side. And this is the first Cold Stone that I have ordered my ice cream to go and not offered a bag for my waffle bowl. It was just set on the ledge. Not the service I would expect.
