I have come to this place for years because the pho was so good and cheap. I took a year break after they decided to hire the worst server in history. He was extremely rude and would actually mock you and try to play it off as him just joking. Then I come back and am so excited to see that he isn't here. We sit down to order and the prices have gone WAY up. Inflation, I get it, but $7 for a 2 piece spring rolls is a little insane. That's half the price of the bowl of pho! Then the pho comes and the broth and meat are completely flavorless. It tasted like they were watering down their broth. It was even almost clear when it used to be a dark brown, richly colored/flavored broth. My BF ordered a thai tea boba which was actually pretty good! So good that he decided to order another for the road. So I head outside to start warming up the car and take the food while he goes to pay the insane $60 bill (which I could have used to get much better food from anther place) and the person bussing the table dumps his completely FULL boba in the trash. No problem. We can just get it remade right? WRONG they look us dead in the face and say no they're not remaking it because they thought we left. What type of shady business practice is this that YOU make a mistake and dump a customer's food away who hadn't even left yet and then you won't remake it?? It's such a shame that "I Love Pho" had to close while these people get to keep this terrible business open. Do not pay a single penny to these people, the food is bad and is getting worse, it's overpriced, and the service is terrible. If you have to penny pinch that bad then you deserve to close. Hopefully it will be replaced by a restaurant...
Read moreNew to Greenville. First, I have been in 4 times. The food was very good. It’s the service and not just because there’s not a lot off staff or busy. The servers are horrible - or I should say the young guy who was hired about 3-4 months ago. I could detail all the things that were wrong but it’d be pointless. The second to last time, I was the only customer in the place and literally watch the young male waiter, a female (assuming she was also waitstaff) and I believe the owner sit around a table by the door while drinking Starbucks beverages the female had brought in. I literally had to get up or speak loudly to get a soup spoon for the Pho, remind I had ordered iced tea, Sweet and Low and then a napkin, and this was all after the bowl of Pho was served. The last time I went in, same young waiter and a few customers. I literally waited 45 mins watching the other tables have orders taken and food come out while the waitstaff including the owner just walk past me. I probably could’ve went to the front and asked why a waiter hadn’t come by or taken an order but after the two previous times and service, I knew I wouldn’t be back. I know the owner was aware. He heard me the two previous times and knew this guy was doing nothing. The only thing they did quickly was bring a check and run the credit card. I will say I enjoyed the food and would love to support small and local businesses, but small and local businesses should provide service and products to make people want to come back. This was not a matter of being impatient while it was busy or some honest mistake. The owners should be ashamed...
Read moreUsed to severely love going to this place. Normally it has great portions, great food, great drinks, and great wait staff.
This most recent visit was a but different however. Me and 6 other guys went to eat July 1st, and one of the guys found a small baby cockroach cooked into his food. We pointed it out discreetly to the waiter so as not to make a big fuss, and the waitress (bless his heart he was brand new there and tried his best) pulled the manager outside, and we overheard him (we were right by the entrance) try to ask the manager if he could comp the meal.
A resounding and loud "No!" Immediately occurred, and he came inside, gave a fake smile, offered to replace the guys food, and then did so. Keep in mind the guy was being very chill about this, way more than I would have been. They bring out the food, we try to eat what we can, then pay and go. Unfortunately, they at the end didn't offer to comp that guys food. Honestly something like this can shut a restaurant down, and we gave them a chance to do good by us.
I personally don't think I'll be attending this restaurant again, which is a shame since it was truly one of my favorite spots and a regular recommendation was given to many friends to come here. EC Pho, you didn't just ruin one persons meal and mess up, you lost a lot of respect and customers in a single go with this yucky move.
I will now instead warn people away from this place, which is really a shame as this restaurant had so much potential. A single meal shouldn't have cost us this much headache, and germs...
