[Edit] Changing my review to 4 stars. So appreciate the transparency in the owner's response. Glad to know that the team is actively working on improving the experience for their customers. We will DEFINITELY be dining here again. Can't say enough about how delicious it was.

The food at Luna Pizza Cafe is delicious! We enjoyed 3 appetizers, two pizzas, and a salad. Honestly, I would order all of it again! The standouts were the roasted mushrooms, the involtini di melanzani, the panzanella salad, and both pizzas - shitake & sausage and the classic margherita. Perfectly seasoned, bold flavors, well executed. Loved every bite!

I'm only giving 3 starts because the service needs some improvement. All of our plates were chipped and we never received new plates after the appetizers. While everyone was so kind to us, the service itself is slow and disorganized. We had to wait on our wine until after our mains were brought out. I actually had to ask for them to bring it twice. We had ordered cocktails beforehand and I understand that due to laws they can't bring our wine out to us until after we finish, but this had been 15 min. after our cocktails were done. Instead of waiting, my mom got up to order to drink (a pepsi) at the bar. The brought out new food but didn't take any of the old plates away. The panzanella salad was brought out so late that the server actually asked us "do you still want this?". We also chatted with neighboring diners who expressed disappointment and frustration in the service. But everyone was still in good spirits and waiting because in the end the servers were all so sweet and the food is that good.

In all, we did have a lovely time. The food is so delicious and special. If you have time and patience, it's 100% worth experiencing. Also, we'll definitely be dining here again. Hoping that we just caught them on...

When the three of us arrived we saw the the restaurant was busy so we asked what the wait time looked like, the hostess checked the tables and the wait list before implying that we would be next and that it looked like “that table looks like they will be getting up in 25 minutes” - we left our name and number, after 40 minutes we walked back to the restaurant to inquire about what the wait time looked like, we saw two empty tabled that needed to be bussed outside. When we got inside a gentleman walked over to the host stand to grab something but he stopped to talk with us. I let him know that we had been told about 25 minutes and that it had been 40 so we just wanted an update on the time. His demeanor immediately went from friendly to condescending he gestured at the dining room and informed us that they were busy- its prom night (how would 3 twenty somethings know its high school prom night?) and Two Chainz (who was preforming at sup dogs not luna) is in town before he walked off. None of the three of us knew about either event. The hostess walked back over asked us our names looked around the dining room and the outdoor spaces (at the two empty tables) told us that it would be a squeeze but if we didn’t mind there not being much room that in maybe 25 minutes they would have a table for us.

I am not upset they were busy, I understand that people enjoy the food and that there were events happening that I was not aware of, hence why we waited so long before inquiring about what the wait time looked like. I am also not upset with the hostess she was doing her job and doing her best to keep up with everything, she was very polite.

But there was no reason for that gentleman to be so rude and to talk down to us he is the reason I will...

Overall, the food at Luna Pizza Café was good and authentic. The atmosphere was nice and comfortable. The specific spot they were in was a bit difficult to find and so was finding proper parking. There were not really any signs pointing or signaling in the direction of where parking for Luna was at. The staff were helpful and very knowledgeable about the menu. The overall theme of the restaurant was a little hard to pinpoint but did have some artisanal and rustic tones. It seemed to be a higher-end, casual setting and not overwhelming. My appetizer, the fire roasted chicken drumsticks, was underwhelming with flavor past the skin. All our food was hot, fresh, and looked appetizing. They even have an open area where you can see the pizzas being made. The ingredients are fresh and quality. However, I did think that they were a little overpriced for what you are getting. I ordered a build your own pizza with a couple of toppings and the size of the pizza is good. It was more than enough for 1 person, but not exactly enough to share. My dessert was amazing. I ordered the Panna Cotta but was addressed by the manager that it was not ready to be served. So instead, I got the Cannoli and they were so delicious and light. I will definitely...

BEST PIZZA IN GREENVILLE!!! @Kyrik #greenvillenc #ecu #ecupirates #easterncarolina #easterncarolinauniversity #lunapizza #pizza #italianfood #neopolitan

Going to start out by telling you how amazing the owner is. I’ve never seen an owner dedicated to cooking as well as working in the job. The environment is cozy and inviting. It’s extremely clean but I did notice fruit flies consistently flying around. The service at first was questionable as we ordered an expresso martini but waited 15 minutes while watching others get drinks who got here after us. Given, the bartender was extremely busy making drinks and serving them at the same time, just made us feel an odd kind of way. We started with the panzanella salad which if you like a vinaigrette based dish, this is the one for you. The margherita pizza is always cooked to perfection and their pizza sauce is what I think the best in Greenville. It is a thin crust pizza so sorry for the folks coming from up north down here. The spaghetti was a little on the saltier and heavier side which for a pomodoro sauce. Ultimately this is one of the best spots a little on the above average for price wise but I definitely recommend it.

I was recommended to this restaurant by someone who was a graduate student at East Carolina University. His professor owns this business and I decided to bring my mother here for Mother's Day since she loves brick-house pizza. Please tell me what kind of presentation this is? We ordered a pizza with ham and their presentation had barely melted the cheese. I wanted to support the small and local business amid the pandemic. This was my Mother's Day gift for $19.70. This was not worth a $20 pizza, by far. No clue what this is or if this business deserves the recognition it has after this. Please fix your cooks, because this pizza was highly unacceptable. P.S. The laid ham on the pizza is what I paid for. The cut up ham (of what it should it have been to begin with) and melted cheese is what me and my mother re-created.
