Over the holidays one of my clients bought me the most INCREDIBLE gingerbread cookie from here. When I thanked them and told them how wonderful the cookie had been, they informed me that it came from a local small business bakery called Open House.
We weren't able to make it to their shop before the holidays were over; however, in January we were nearby and saw their open sign lit up and decided in that moment to brave a new space.
Before entering the bakery we noticed two 🏳️🌈 pride flags 🏳️🌈 on display in the window. It was INCREDIBLY reassuring to see that we were WELCOME in their space. This started things off on the best foot and provided a comfort we couldn't have anticipated prior to our impromptu visit.
We genuinely felt welcome in their establishment and our minute anxiety about going to a new place was instead replaced with happy hearts, knowing we were in a safe place.
Once we were inside, we were greeted by a small seating area within the middle of the room- what a lovely spot to have a sit down and a treat! We have not yet sat down inside to enjoy our goodies, but we will definitely have to sit down and enjoy the full experiencethey offer. The space feels warm, inviting and comfortable to be in- even for those of us who aren't typically keen on going to new places...I can say with absolute certainty we were both so glad we visited!!
To the left of the tables are shelves filled with a wide variety of hand made goodies, including adorable crochet keychains and toys!
Once you go through the door, immediately to your right a refrigerated display case houses beautifully decorated cupcakes and other yummy treats.
In another display to the left, a colorful array of macaroons are on display in all of their adorably yummy and visually creative glory. And then to the left of the macaroon display is a counter top leading to the register area. The counter has large glass panels lining the edge to protect the sweet treats on display while soft and warm over head lights draw your eyes to the bakers masterful artistry seen in their baked goods- they are clearly made with love! A wide variety of cookies sit atop lovely cake/display stands along with smores, lemon and butter bars.
Near the register are other wrapped treats that would be excellent as a gift or a quick goodie for someone on the go.
Near the cash wrap there is a small display full of ADORABLE home baked goodies for both cats and dogs😻🐶
The few times we have gone to Open House we have not once been disappointed. The staff are always kind and friendly, which goes a long way with us. The kind people, the welcoming and safe environment, the overall blend of the comfy ambiance that makes this place so wonderfully magical has won our hearts. We are fully dedicated to enthusiastically tell our friends how fabulous of a place it is, and we will most certainly be visiting💕
Thank you Open House for being incredible in so many ways😊
After our first visit, we were discussing how excited we are to see how your baked goods change for holidays and we are really hoping that in June that there might be some 🌈 rainbow🌈 goodies! We thoroughly enjoyed your Valentines themed cookies and cupcakes and are looking forward to what you all do next...

You’ll enter the building to a gorgeous decor and a welcoming family of strong women, who work well into the early hours of the morning for the sake of providing you with the best experience possible. To no surprise, they deliver exactly that every single time: a great experience. But you’re here for the desserts, and my oh my, you’ve come to the right place.
I started my relationship with the women of OHB after requesting a sugar free cake for my son’s first birthday. Not only was that cake fantastic for both its taste and overall execution, I have visited regularly since and I’ve yet to be disappointed. You can expect a new roster of fresh cupcakes daily, a rainbow display of macaroons, the prettiest and most moist scones you’ll find in the Southeastern US, assortments of delicious cookies, and more. Don’t forget to grab a few free stickers by the register, and register for their loyalty program. Thank you ladies for the kindness and love you have brought...

Food: My family has tried their cupcakes, macarons, bars, cream horns, and cookies. They have never let us down; so delicious. And, because everything is handmade in shop, daily- you'll always come to find new flavors and creations.
Atmosphere: They have an amazing little area for knickknack shopping, dine-in tables, and a couple of outside tables. The place is sensory friendly as well. The lights are not too dim and not too bright. The smell in there is surprisingly subtle and not overly sweet or aromatic.
Service: Their service is top-notch. They are quick to service you and answer any questions you may have. Their bright smiles and welcoming aura, draws you in.
They even have pup treats and some diy bakery goods.
I've been here twice now, and I've failed to take pictures. I'll try to remember next time and add them...
