The attitude was louder than the service.
The young Black girl working alone today—Saturday, June 21st around 4 PM—was cute in the face, nasty in the attitude. I get it, working solo is stressful. But if you clock in, do the job. Nobody forced you to be there, so at least fake a smile if customer service isn’t your strong suit.
All I wanted was a side of banana peppers. Not gold, not a kidney—just banana peppers. But apparently, that was asking for too much. She told me no multiple times before finally giving me a sad handful—5, maybe 6 if I squinted—claiming her manager wouldn’t allow it. Girl, I even offered to PAY for them. I tried to lighten the mood with a joke and told her I wouldn’t snitch. She didn’t even crack a smile—just moved right on to the next person like I was invisible.
No thank you, no have a nice day, no nothing. Just straight disrespect in a hairnet.
And here’s the kicker—I saw less than a dollar in change in her tip jar. I was ready to drop more in until that cold energy made me snatch my kindness back. Instead, I gave her what she gave me: a dry “thank you” and kept it moving.
If her manager is that strict about banana peppers, maybe start teaching staff how to not scare off the few customers you still have. Might help that tip jar look less...
Read moreI go to this Subway often and never have any issues until today. My coworker and I were in line waiting patiently as the one worker they had appeared to be by herself. Although she was the only one there she was still managing to keep up with the lunch line. Finally a white lady came in that must have been a manager started to help out and this is where the problem started. Another white lady who was in line behind my coworker and I stepped out of line went to the front of the line and said she wanted to purchase a couple of gift cards. A couple ended up being 28 to be exact. This not only caused the line to come to a screeching halt but now our food is just sitting there as the manager attempts to ring up these gift cards twice. After she finally got it right the lady steps out of line and goes back in her original spot behind me and my coworker. Again this caused our pizzas to be cold and the manager went on like business as usual. I have never experienced anything like this and was really shocked that the manager allowed this to happen. Kudos to the young black lady who was holding the whole store...
