Hidden gem in Greenville. It's tucked away, behind the "Toyota of Greenville" dealership and service center, and it would be very easy to miss if you didn't know what you're looking for. Very limited parking, though they have a pretty good sized eating area inside. This was our first trip here, but won't be our last! Food was really good, but the service was even better. I had the cheeseburger club and my wife had patty melt. She got tots with her meal and I got fries. We both preferred the tots, though the fries weren't bad. They have daily specials, we almost tried that (pineapple chicken, today), but we will have to try it again. As we were finishing up the meal, the owner brought out a chicken tender for us to try, it was hot and fresh and delicious too. Very reasonable prices as well...be sure to check...

What a delightful surprise! There are not a lot of choices for a traditional breakfast in this stretch of Laurens Rd. The choices are even fewer if, like me, you have dropped your car at one of the dealers to have it serviced and you are on foot. This location is actually in the Toyota dealer complex (not where I was getting my car serviced). So when following Google Maps be aware that you are going to the rear of that complex. You could almost think it's the dealership's cafeteria (maybe?). This is not some fancy go out to eat place. I rated it for what it is....a friendly atmosphere, functional seating and decor, and exactly the type of food I would expect to eat when expecting a down home...

Tucked behind Toyota of Greenville, The Pit Stop has been serving up classic meat-and-three meals for decades. A true hidden gem that’s been flying under the radar all this time. They’re open Monday through Friday for breakfast and lunch and post their menu weekly on their Facebook page. Today’s lunch? Baked ham, green beans, and mac and cheese that instantly took me back to my childhood standing in my grandma’s kitchen, watching her make mac and cheese from scratch. The green beans and mac and cheese tasted almost exactly like hers. And of course, I couldn’t leave without a slice of Mississippi Mud Cake. The best part? All of that plus a drink for just $13! If you’re craving some down-home, good Southern cooking served with a smile, The Pit Stop is absolutely worth the stop. 🍽️💛 Shout out to @Chrissy and Rob for putting me on to this spot!
