There's no way to have 2 reviews, so am posting thr new review here on top with new, higher numbers. All 5s. Highly recommend! We sat outside and the service was great! The food was even better... nothing negative at all. Ok... this isn't negative, but the meatballs were akin to burgers instead of being round. But the sauces they were adorned with, and the bread were delish!
We started with Vivian's "meatballs", the Brussel sprout salad and the smoked mushrooms. All were delicious! Dinner was the secret menu item...waygu burger with potato wedges and tomato jam. Delish! The pork chop was once again delish, as was the tuna wraps. The filets were cooked as ordered and were the bomb.
As it was a birthday celebration the deserts were also yummy! The beers were local and various types. The mixed drinks were on point. It's a great spot!
Old review below.
Ok. First off, the place is gorgeous inside. You better not be XXL though with the chair selections, cause everything has arms. But the place looks great!!
The hours are a tad misleading. We arrived at 4. We were told that kitchen opens at 5, but please feel free to enjoy a drink. How about advertising that fact?
We sat in the outside bar area. Nice... will be nicer in the summer or when patio heaters are installed, as this area has no sun. We asked to move, and being we were one of the only ones to stay between 4 and 5 (although 5 or 6 parties came that early), we were moved to a table with sun. The service was good with the exception of not getting the Titos Lemondrop we ordered.
Now on to the reason people go out to eat... the food. The chef brought her signature Brussel sprout salad from the 05 here, but otherwise the menu is almost entirely different.
Both parties started with the fried zucchini and Vivian's "meatballs". Both are pictured below. I liked the meatballs so much, it's what I ordered for dinner! I wouldn't order the zucchini again, but that's just me. It ok okay... needing a sauce that was under the first piece throughout the dish.
For dinner, the croque monsiour and Chipotle bourbon wings were had by one couple, and meatball and pork chop for the other. The wings were lollipop style. With celery and a homemade ranch. These were good though I didn't detect any bourbon notes. The croque monsieur was good, though the gentleman that had it wondered where the other half was. See picture for sandwich size. My meatballs were fantastic! The pork was tender, juicy and flavorful.
All in all, the four of us would prefer to go to the 05 than return here, as we just seem to prefer the menu there. I'm sure some will prefer the menu here. The best word for the menu here to me is boujie.
We spent $120 on a spritzer, a beer, 3 appetizers and 1 main dish, 20% tip included. I hope the success that the 05 has had translates...
Read moreThe PM bartender here made me SO uncomfortable and made me feel so unwelcome. This is my second time coming in at night and he is so annoyed guests are here. I arrived at 9:50 and I was greeted with “coming in for a quick drink” and I’m like yes but your kitchen is open until 10 right? He said 5 more minutes. As I’m ordering a Brussels sprout salad he’s sliding the menu away before I could finish as I wanted to add a protein.
Then a group of 3 walks in and his teeth clenches and he greets them with “hey guys joining us for a quick drink” and it made my stomach turn because he also made them feel awkward, they asked “you guys close at 11 right” and he responds kitchen closes at 10 and we close shortly after.
I made a comment in person before and thought things would get better because they agreed feeling rushed was very inappropriate. I live close and if we are going to base the restaurant off of the zip codes I come because it’s accommodating and close for my hectic schedule which is also hospitality. I pray I’m never viewed in the way I’m viewing this bartender. I can’t even enjoy my meal or my wine because I feel so out of place, this is NOT hospitality. Again I hate writing about fellow bartenders but he needs to know how he makes others feel-horrible. And yes I left 20% because I give grace always.
Not feeling welcomed or like a valued guest- I just won’t be back. If the manager on duty would’ve cared to check on anyone maybe I would’ve voiced it to her but when I left at 10:20 she was just eating and in and out of the office ready to go too. The last thing the bartender said to me was “can I get change for you” I responded no thank you and that was it. No “enjoy your night or see...
Read moreIt was a busy Friday night! We were seated on the patio. Food and beverages were not coming out of the kitchen/bar very fast. However we didn't care. We knew it was their very first week of being opened. The staff was kind and stayed in good spirits although you could tell they were getting their butts handed to them. Our server was Cat/Kat she was fabulous and we applaud her for her patience and fabulous service! We started with the dips and spreads! They were all great I really enjoyed the white bean mouse and the roasted tomato and garlic. We also shared the meatballs, wings and fried zucchini.
For entrees we had the sliced steak with blue cheese potatoes! It wasn't even my dish and I was trying to eat all of those potatoes. My husband gave me a bite of his steak and it was perfectly cooked with great flavor! I ordered the pork Chop and it was also beautifully presented and tasty!
We indulged in wine and cocktails and eventually made our way to the bar at the end of the evening for a night cap. The bartenders were top notch and provided tasty beverages and great conversations!
Even though it was incredibly busy, I know the 07 will iron out the kinks and this will be a 5 star restaurant off Lauren's road. I've lived in this area for almost 20 years so this is mind blowing to me to have such a lovely restaurant open up right down the block from my house. The menu is superb and I absolutely love the vibe of the restaurant.
Good job to all the of 07 staff for executing a busy Friday night service! I'm excited to...
