Let me start out by saying how much we love the Scullery. Food is always awesome. Most time there is a wait in the morning on the weekends but usually get in withhin a decent amount of time. Today my wife and I had the day off so we wanted to try the lunch menu. It wasn’t busy, we sat ourselves with open tables around us. I guess she was our waitress, got us menus and waters and insisted we take a minute to look over the menu (even though we were ready to order). She then spent the next 20 minutes being double and triple sat while bussing tables. She got everyone else’s drinks and orders while we sat with our menues hanging off the table as a sign that we were ready to order...she never came back to get our order. It wasn’t busy by any means, she just didn’t understand the sequence of serving. Granted, this is probably her first waitressing job, but to blatenly not “see” that we were ready is uncalled for. We finally got tired of being ignored and left. She passed my wife on the way out and my wife told her sorry that we were leaving, she said nothing...not even an I’m sorry or anything. It was like she didn’t even recognize that we were her table and she our waitress. It was a total let down when our hopes of great food were so high. We will be back because the food is great but I feel like there needs to be better staff training. I’ll just leave my rant at that. It hurts to have to leave a 3 star review on such a...
Read moreI am a frequent visitor of The Scullery breakfast bar, and I absolutely love it! Every visit feels like a treat, not just because of the amazing food but because of the overall experience. First off, the food is always fantastic, and I’m consistently impressed by how fast it comes out—perfect for those mornings when I’m on the go but still want a high-quality meal.
What really sets The Scullery apart, though, is its atmosphere. It’s warm, inviting, and has a unique charm that makes you want to stay and soak it all in. One of my favorite things about the space is the rotating art on the walls. They feature new local art every month or every other month, which gives the place a fresh and vibrant feel. It’s not just a breakfast bar; it’s like a mini art gallery where you get to enjoy incredible creations by talented local artists while sipping your coffee.
What really stands out to me is how much The Scullery cares about its community. By showcasing local artists, they’re not just decorating their walls—they’re supporting creativity and giving people a platform to shine. It’s clear they value the people around them, and that kind of commitment to the community is rare and special.
Whether you’re going for a quick breakfast or to hang out with friends, The Scullery has it all: great food, a cozy vibe, and an inspiring touch of art that makes every visit memorable....
Read moreQuaint location with good food. It's a small space with tables pretty close together but you don't feel cramped. The vibe is very relaxed and people aren't really concerned with each other, everyone was just quietly in their own world.
I hadn't been here in a few years so it was a little different today. When you walk in, go to the counter, place your order, then you will be seated. This caught me off guard because I tend to take a while to figure out what I want and this place is popular so it can get busy pretty quick. Fortunately it was a while before someone walked in behind us and they had no clue what they wanted either.
Our food came out surprisingly fast. Like I didn't expect it at all. I had barely added sugar to my hot tea and the food arrived. Everything was good. I like the avocado toast but was expecting a mashed avocado spread, instead it was avocado slices. It's not a place for frills or fancy touches but they do a great job with their breakfast. My husband said his food was delicious too. He had the hungry pirate and cheesy grits.
Don't be turned off by having to pay for parking now. It's only $1 for 3 hours which is plenty of time to eat here and also wander around downtown to visit the shops, brewery, Insomnia Cookies, etc... or even to the town commons for a walk...
