My sister and I drove all the way from Charlotte to Greenville, and trust me, I'd do it again in a heartbeat just for this food. We had a little trouble finding it since it's attached to a church and the sign looks like a church announcement, but once we found it, everything was smooth sailing!
My sister ordered the Nashville Hot Chick-un Sandwich, Vegan Be'fsteak Quesadilla with sautéed kale and sun-dried tomatoes, a blend of melted cheddar, and their signature house sauce. She also got the Loaded Beefless Real Potato Fries, and I went for the desserts--strawberry cake and apple pie (which came with ice cream, and though they initially forgot it, they quickly brought it out when I asked, no fuss at all). Both desserts were so good we knew we were in for a treat before the main dishes even came out.
When the food arrived, we had to rush out to get to the cleaners before they closed, but once we finally tried the quesadilla, OH BABY! It was unbelievably flavorful. My sister, who's usually unimpressed by vegan restaurants, was completely speechless! The Loaded Fries, though delicious, were a little cold, so we called the restaurant and they happily agreed to remake them. When I went back to pick up the fries, I couldn't resist ordering more food -- another quesadilla and the 3 Mixed Tacos: Chick-un, Beefless, and Oyster Mushroom.
Let me tell you, the Beefless and Oyster Mushroom tacos were out of this world! The Chick-un taco was good too, but my sister and I were fighting over who would finish the other two. Vegan House Shack has truly set a new standard for vegan food -- every bite was top-tier, and the customer service was amazing. If you're looking for incredible vegan cuisine, this is the place to be. I'm already planning...
Read moreI drove 40 mins to try this vegan restaurant and I must say, the food was worth the drive. When my order came to the table the sauce was spilled to the bottom of my plate which was no big deal. I asked the lady for another sauce and she specifically said, âyou canât eat the sauce from the bottom of the plate?â âWe charge $1 for sauce here.â I was confused and astonished that she said that to me so I offered to pay for another sauce to ensure that I was not taking from their pockets. She then proceeded to inform me that she will give me another sauce this time since it was my first time however, her attitude was very unwelcoming and my dining experience was ruined immediately after this incident. Considering that Iâm a customer that just paid over $80, the treatment could have been much better considering my request was a small cup of dipping sauce.
Update: even in your response you blame me for your poor customer service. This is pathetic. As I stated to you in the restaurant you made me very uncomfortable with your service provided and I am more than happy to pay for your $1 sauce cups that was already spilled prior to receiving my food as I said. I donât look for hand outs especially not from small businesses. I shared my experience truthfully in hope that your customer service improves for the next customer. Clearly that will not...
Read moreWeâve been trying to get to this restaurant for a while now, but every time we were in Greenville, it was outside of their business hours. Today, we finally made it happen, and when I tell you this food is next level! Whew! Hands down, some of the best vegan food weâve ever had with plenty of options to choose from.
FOR THE NEWBIES: If your GPS takes you to a church, donât worry, youâre not lost! Youâre in the right spot. The entrance is on the side of the church. Head up the stairs, and when you walk in, go straight to the kiosk to place your order. Then grab a seat and get ready for âThe Blessed Hands of Godâs Workâ preparing your food to bless your plate!.
We devoured the food so fast we forgot to take pictures! But hereâs what we had:
Appetizers: Dried oyster mushrooms
Drinks: Pineapple juice, peach juice, which tasted like jamaican juices, and a blackberry soda
Meals: One fish sandwich meal (with mayo, lettuce, tomato, and cheese + real cut fries), and a cheesesteak hoagie with a kale salad and fried cauliflower on the side, vegan mayo and ranch.
The food? Incredible. The service? Even better. And yes, we are officially regulars now.
Oh, and one more thing: Donât ask the same silly question I did. đ There are signs right by the kiosk that answer it clearly. YES, everything is vegan. No need to fret....
