I recently went here for the first time. I've lived in Greenwich my whole life and can't believe it has taken me this long to discover this absolute GEM. I love when a place focuses on one thing and does it right. For Aplen it's the cold sandwiches and they do it the BEST. The sandwiches are very simple, but details like dressings from scratch, tearing the cold cuts while placing it on the bread, and the finely shredded lettuce make it outstanding. Their "Black Bread", pumpernickel, is soft and moist like cake. I tried 3 of their fan favorites; The Stilton, The Bomber, and The Bearnaise. I honestly can say they were all amazing. I can't wait to go back to try all of their menu. I know their sandwiches sound so basic, I thought that too, but that's what makes it so mind blowing. Recently, I was able to again have the food from Alpine Pantry . Now 20 years later, the taste and the quality of the food has not changed. It is still absolutely delicious..
