Upper Crust Bagel Co — Restaurant in Greenwich

This used to be my favorite place to get bagels and egg salad sandwiches. I will no longer be a customer here. I usually order the same selection, "Fresh Egg Salad Sandwich," on UberEats when I cannot stop by. There is no option to choose which bread so I always write a note that I would like whole wheat. Today I received just a container of egg salad and a note that bread was not free. Not once in the past was I ever told that my "Fresh Egg Salad SANDWICH" would not come with bread. I called and asked why this time I did not receive a sandwich and was rudely told two things: that I should have put a note that I wanted bread (which I did) and they could not make me a sandwich for the price listed. I proceeded to tell whoever I spoke with that I always have ordered the same sandwich and there is no option to choose your bread only add ons for toppings such as cheese, lettuce, etc. They should not list the item as a "Fresh Egg Salad Sandwich" if you will not receive a sandwich. Very disappointed in the customer service, someone could of called me and let me know and I would have gladly paid whatever extra for the bread. Why should I be punished for...

A lot of times when people say a restaurant has the worst food they’ve ever eaten usually isn’t true, and they tend to have recency bias. I took my time before coming here and writing this review and I can genuinely say this is the most disgusting bagel place I’ve ever come across in all my years of existence. the eggs taste like plastic dipped in wax. They microwave their eggs ( I called and confirmed this with an employee) they also microwave their bacon. The effort they put into making their food is so lackluster you could not only taste it, but you can see it.the food is genuinely not edible. If you were on an abandoned island and had nothing to eat, you would probably be better off eating sand and dirt than eating from this establishment.I doubt many people will see this but if I can save one person from stepping into this establishment and giving them a penny of your hard earned money then...

I am a frequent patron of UCBC but today's order left me disappointed. I ordered through DoorDash but even still, what happened should have been avoidable. I received some of the worst breakfast sandwiches I've ever eaten. We requested the bagels be toasted, they were not. The cheese was not even slightly melted. And they put a brick of preprepared "scrambled" eggs twice the thickness of the bagel on there with a small amount of chewy (not crispy) bacon. I was extremely disappointed considering I've been patronizing Upper Crust in Darien for years. Upon coming to leave this review I saw a review by Joel from 5 months ago with a photo of a significantly more appetizing bagel,and that's what I had come to expect from this establishment. But unfortunately I can see they are not consistent....
