Atmosphere - Starbucks 2.0! It's a glorified "bake shop" that has a nicer, home-made touch than starbucks. A few people plugged their lap tops into the wall and were clearly working taking calls and meetings virtually as if it were their personal office space as they nursed a beverage for well over an hour planted at the window seats; NOT what someone expects coming into a bakery cafe to have a relaxing morning coffee and treat. If it was an internet cafe then it would be understandable. Work should be done in your own environment and the cafe should prevent this if they want to be the next Raphael's or Isabelle et Vincent. A cafe is meant for one to relax, socialize and enjoy; not to feel as if you're in work environment.
Coffee - The description states we try to use organic and local when possible yet their coffee is roasted in Seattle, Washington. You have a plethora of coffee roasters in New England, why not use them? The coffee itself did not taste freshly roasted and the taste was off . They do grind the beans, but it is okay at best. Not many options of coffee on the menu; just a basic coffee menu no pour over or other types. Coffee prices are reasonable. $3 for a small which was more like a medium for most other places. Good value for the size.
Food - by 10:30 am there wasn't much of a selection left. The quiche looked like it was sitting out for quite some time and didn't look appealing. Most of the pastries and croissants looked dried. I opted for a cheddar cheese and scallion scone which had a heavy baking soda aftertaste. It was on the dry side.
Staff - they were not friendly nor were they welcoming and the one girl looked miserable and her attitude was presented in that manner as she took our order. She stood there staring at us waiting for a tip as we paid. I ordered from a counter top and there was no table service so why would someone tip a person for literally doing their job which she was miserable at performing. I tip generously when it is appropriate and when I've had a pleasant experience. Here's a tip...a smile goes a long way in changing the energy. Tables weren't cleaned off from the previous patrons yet the place wasn't busy and the staff stood around and had time to chat about being constipated. Classy! I...
Read moreLove love love this new bakery! Every item I've had here has been off the charts. It's my new favorite and I would go every day if I could. The poppyseed marzipan baked good is unbelievable especially when warmed. I also loved the pistachio tart and lemon creme brûlée. Even the cofffee is so much better than most coffee shops. They also have a super cute selection of items that you can make a gift basket with. I made a Valentine's Day basket with salts and salt grater, chocolate, homemade peanut butter granola (also a favorite) and a couple other things. The owner is so sweet and helpful and did an amazing job. I can't wait until it's open 7 days a week because every day that it's closed all I want is to go there. It would also be awesome if you would be open Mondays because you would be the only bakery in Greenwich open Mondays so it would make a huge difference. I've told all my friends and family about this place and everyone...
Read moreI gave a 4 because I believe feedback is important, but I also see a lot of potential in this place. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was clean and inviting. I also loved the little gift area—it’s a great touch! However, the pastries didn’t quite meet my expectations. I purchased two chocolate items, but unfortunately, the chocolate flavor was barely noticeable. The chocolate cake, while very moist, tasted more like a vanilla cake with vanilla frosting. The chocolate chip cookie was quite thick and not lacked flavor. In both items I couldn’t tell there was chocolate. I also tried another danish pastry that just wasn’t that great, which was a bit disappointing. Since you’re a new establishment, I’ll definitely return to try other offerings, but I wanted to share this feedback—especially in a town known for its incredible bakeries and...
