Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Greenwich

Prices are definitely in the higher end given the lack of history and reputation of self proclaimed chefs. These prices are usually justified when well trained and educated chefs had proper training and/or longevity in the industry. There is an obvious gap. Torching (supposedly) great fish seems trendy and social media friendly but unfortunately not necessary for quality nigiri/sashimi. Once or twice maybe is bearable. I am pleased the establishment offers more than standard frozen fillet cuts of salmon, yellowtail, and tuna. Would like to see more offerings from standard rolls and American trinity of average fish. My wish for Fairfield county is an authentic Japanese restaurant. Too many misguided establishments educating novice eaters about sudo-Asian cuisine. Extremely fresh, high end, high quality sushi! Yes it’s not cheap, but this is Old Greenwich after all. Thankfully, this sushi is worth every penny!

We started with the miso soup, excellent flavor. Delivered quickly.

Then ordered the binney roll, spider roll and Riverside roll. Packed full of flavor and you can’t beat the presentation. Also love their attention to detail with the paper crane chopstick holder, and warm towels to cleanse your hands before you eat.

We loved sitting at the bar where you can observe the chefs making their masterpieces, using all kinds of blow torches& exotic knives.

It is BYOB, but if you forget there are a couple of wine/alcohol shops right near by to grab something to sip on.

Finished with the strawberry & chocolate mochi ice cream. Was delicious and the perfect way to end our sushi date night.

An absolute sushi treat for a former New Yorker who misses her omakase! This place serves delicious, melt in your mouth, fresh fish. Their Omakase Plate is genius… all the fun, variety and quality with half the time commitment. I also thought their Mustard Green salad with ginger dressing was really refreshing and perfectly tangy sweet. The ambiance is modern and welcoming… and the sushi bar looks like a lot of fun.
