George Italian Seafood & Steakhouse — Restaurant in Greenwich

Starting off with the positives, the staff and owners at the restaurant were exceptional, providing a warm welcome and attentive service throughout the meal. The owner even took the time to visit our table and introduce himself, which was a nice touch.

Unfortunately, our dining experience was marred by a few issues. The first table that we were shown to had some cleanliness issues, including hairs on the tablecloth. After requesting to move to a different table, the service improved, and our waiter was quick to resolve a problem with my Coke, which initially had no gas. He kindly brought me a fresh, larger glass to make up for it.

Regrettably, the main course was a disappointment. Despite ordering the veal, it had a rubbery texture that made it difficult to enjoy, and the mushrooms were passable at best. To make matters worse, I felt unwell shortly after leaving the restaurant, and my stomach continued to feel unsettled for the remainder of the weekend, putting a damper on our weekend getaway.

Overall, while the friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere at George Italian Seafood and Steakhouse were noteworthy, the sub-par food quality and hygiene concerns during our visit would prevent me from returning...

Made a reservation for two for my fiancé’s birthday dinner. Since it was a Monday, the place was pretty quiet so we were able to choose where to sit. The ambiance is that of a typical Italian restaurant. It’s pretty spacious and even has a downstairs event space. The service was great, since there weren’t many other patrons we got attended to pretty quickly and the food came out in a timely manner. They bring you bread to start. We ordered the clams and ahi tuna tartar for appetizers, which was so good. For the main, we got the salmon and steak with a side of whipped potatoes. The salmon was was a 10/10 as was the broccoli and potatoes. The skin was very crispy and the salmon was cooked to my liking of well done. The steak was ordered medium, however it came out more as medium well, but it was still delicious and a great portion too. We honestly were too full for dessert but our waitress surprised us with a cheesecake as she had asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. It was a sweet gesture and much appreciated by us. The cheesecake was sooo good, sadly I didn’t get a picture of it but it had hints of coconut. Overall, this place really deserves the high reviews as their food and service...

I recently ordered the Organic Chicken Martini and Veal Scaloppini Parmigiana from this restaurant, and unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the quality of the food, especially considering how highly I’ve spoken of this place in the past.

The chicken martini was a bit underwhelming. The portion was smaller than expected, and the dish just lacked the flavor I’ve come to associate with this restaurant. The mashed potatoes tasted like something you’d find in a boxed mix—bland and with no seasoning. The broccoli, although perfectly cooked and delightfully crunchy, was huge and flavorless.

As for the veal scaloppini, I had high hopes, but it too missed the mark. The taste didn’t live up to the standards I’ve experienced dining in the restaurant. I understand that delivery may not always reflect the full dining experience, but I expected much more, especially from a place that has previously delivered excellent meals.

As someone who appreciates authentic Italian cuisine and holds this restaurant to a higher standard, I couldn’t help but feel let down by what I received. I’ve had better meals there, and I hope this was just an off night, as I truly enjoy their food when...
