Kneaded Bread has become a large part of our weekend lives, especially after relocating an hour or so out of the city. Here's what we've enjoyed:
Ring Ding/Ding Dong: This is ring ding can be split amongst three people and have them leave satisfied! This is pretty much a slice of cake cut out into portions and covered in a chocolate ganache. Inside, you’ve got layers of moist chocolate cake, marshmallow icing and a whole lot of love. It’s so rich and delicious, I needed four full glasses of water to go through the whole thing! And yes, I ate the whole thing.
Sticky Buns: These sticky buns are real nice. They are fortunately not too sweet but very moist. The pralines on top add a nice texture. More please! The inside of the sticky buns remind me of a Cinnabon roll. I wish it came with the icing though! That would put this sticky bun over the top! Moist on the inside, sticky and coated nicely with a syrup or caramel, this is a great alternative to a Cinnabon roll.
Coconut Cake: Yellow cake with a marshmallow frosting covered in freshly shredded coconut. This is the first menu item I had ever tried from Kneaded Bread. It’s so nicely made — fluffy yellow cake, fluffy marshmallow frosting that isn’t too sweet and isn’t too thick. It’s refreshing and something you’ll enjoy after a nice home cooked dinner. Sometimes, we even have it for breakfast with a hot cup of coffee!
Powdered Sugar and Cinnamon-Sugar Donuts: These donuts are incredible. Not a bit of chocolate, jelly, cream or custard anywhere near these donuts and yet they’re perfect and super enjoyable. What’s funny is… these are the donuts that I’d avoid in Dunkin Donuts… but the only kind of donuts I would want from Kneaded Bread. (Well… they’re the only kind of donuts that they sell but still.) These are perfectly coated in cinnamon sugar or powered sugar and the donut itself, the cake… its super dense but melts in your mouth the minute it hits your tongue. The recipe is outstanding and they’re made to perfection.
Croissant: Exactly what you’d imagine! Flakey, buttery and beautiful on the inside with a a gorgeous golden brown exterior to greet you. Trust me, it’s so good you would never need to eat anything with this. No extra butter… no ham egg and cheese… nothing. This is perfect just the way it is.
Almond Croissant: Incredible. I had never had one before having a few at Kneaded Bread this and this is the most amazing pastry I have ever had. The text the of the almonds on top and the fluffiness of the croissant on the inside is just unbelievable. This is effectively my go-to breakfast pastry that I crave every single Saturday morning.
On top of that, it is filled with a delicious almond custard that is rich but not too rich! It’s not too sweet and the texture is perfect. How they get to this point? I have no idea but I’ve never had a bad Almond Croissant! Don’t let it sit out for more than an hour or so because either it gets soggy because of the cream filling… or someone else will eat it before you do!
The Service: Customer service at Kneaded Bread is incredible. It gives you the love and care that you’d hope from a boutique bakery. I’ve got to place a lot of emphasis on this. It’s very rare to find a shop that remembers you week after week. Kneaded Bread succeeds at this every single week. Even after a few weeks of not visiting, it is as if not one day passed. They’ll remember you and it’s an amazing feeling.
Fernando: On the topic of perfect customer service… I’ve got to give a shout out to an amazing person on the staff at Kneaded Bread — Fernando, someone who proves himself to be a leader in the Kneaded Bread environment has gone out of his way to show the best customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life. He is one of the biggest reasons why my wife and I have stayed true to our Kneaded Bread addiction.
If there’s someone to look for at Kneaded Bread, it’s Fernando. He’ll always make sure you leave the shop with a smile. ...
Read moreThe Kneaded Bread is a treasure of a food provider in Port Chester, NY. All the bread is better by a million than any other bread you've ever had. Don't bother baking your own, it won't compare to the crusts, the insides or the length of time that the bread is viable. There is prepared food and you can have grab and go salads or build your own. Soup is home made and you can buy it to go frozen or hot. At any given time there are at least 3 varieties of frozen soup in my freezer. I have gotten out of the homemade soup business in my own kitchen, because Kneaded Bread soup is as good or better than my own. All the ingredients are fresh and the food is clean. But the big draw and the thing all my friends and family will request from me are the almond croissants. Sold out by 10:00 a.m. daily, they are easily the best morsel of food I have ever cheated on my diet for. Fernando, a mainstay and friendly face behind the counter, manages the retail operation with kindness and sincere friendliness you rarely experience because his goodness is authentic. Like I said, a treasure of a...
Read moreI have been here many times before and love their baked goods, but had to leave a review today after my first visit since COVID started. I noticed and really appreciated their meticulous attention to all of the details for keeping their customers safe and healthy.
In addition to the normal procedures of marking the floors for distance and one-way traffic, they went above and beyond to have a separate person packing orders than was handling payments. They used a fresh wax paper for each item in addition to wearing gloves, and placed each paper bag into a larger paper bag for carrying. They also made a point to handle the outer bag from the sides and hand it over that way, so the customer was the first person touching the handles. Thank you for your thoughtful attention and care in both your baking...
