Joe Studio Café — Restaurant in Greenwich

I went to this coffee shop for the first time today, and unfortunately, it might be the last. I'm disappointed with the service. I came with my small Maltese dog and my three-year-old daughter. I ordered a chocolate croissant and a pour-over coffee. I was told to wait for 10 minutes, which was fine with me, so we sat in a corner next to the door. My daughter was eating her croissant, and I patiently waited for my coffee. When I was finally called to pick up my order, my dog started barking as I stood up. Nonetheless, I picked up my coffee, went back for my bag, and we were just leaving. The lady at the counter rudely told me to leave because my dog was barking, and it's a dining area. Overall, she could have said it more politely, especially since I left a tip, and when I was placing the order, she was on the phone, talking to someone the whole time, and I had to repeat my order several times before she understood. Service was terrible... we walked in at 7:15, closing time is supposed to be 8:00.

We felt they just wanted us to have everything to go in a paper cup and felt unsettled. It’s 7:30 now and they are noisily cleaning out the store (with store full of customers), after serving our espresso in giant large paper cup, which I had to ask to put in the espresso cup. We asked for espresso con panama but they had put the cream away already.

Not a happy experience. It spoiled our happy experience when we met a barista this morning and he is a passionate coffee roaster and lover who spent lots of time talking about the cafe with us.

7:34. 5 customers walk in.. practically got turned away, leaving unhappy.

Can owner get some one actually care to serve the customer?

Overall I was bit disappointed with this place. When it was my turn to order, I was ignored for a couple minutes by the barista. A simple “I’ll be right with you sir” would have sufficed but nope - ignored while the barista attended to different things. Then when I did order, the barista grabbed my coffee cup with her fingers grasping the inside of it, don’t believe she even washed her hands after doing other things. Then I wasn’t asked if I wanted milk or cream and so when I realized, I had to wait again in line just to be greeted by a very unenthusiastic barista asking if I needed something... I liked the coffee but won’t be coming back...
