I've been ordering from The French Press for awhile (incredible delicious food, great options, lovely service) and have been meaning to leave a review, but I had an experience this morning that had led me to write this. I have PCOS and need to be on an anti-inflammatory diet, so I've always appreciated The French Press for their options. I don't have Celiac or an allergy, but gluten is one of the things I limit to avoid triggering my condition. This morning I doordashed a breakfast burrito with a gluten-free tortilla, some pork green chile on the side, and some coffee. Someone not only noticed I had ordered a gluten free tortilla, but had the care and courtesy to write in big red letters on the reciept stapled to the bag that the pork green chile wasn't gluten free and put the chile itself in a well secured plastic container in the bottom of the bag. To whomever took the time to see that gluten-free tortilla and write the message about the pork chile not being gluten-free on the receipt - thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness. It may have been something small, but it means the world you went out of your way to notice that. Thank you for bringing kindness into this chaotic world. It hasn't gone unnoticed ā¤ļø To anyone else reading this review, this is what you can expect when you order from The French Press - kindness, consideration, and some damn good food. Give 'em a try and tip the workers! They're good people 😊

This place is outstanding! From ordering until my food was delivered hot... Less than 5 minutes... And it was CHEAP! You order at the counter, sest yourself and they bring it to you. Cute place with local art in the walls. I'll definitely be back!

Just off the Main Street, abundant parking available. It’s quite spacious inside- we went in for brunch on a Wednesday in July. Ambiance was cozy, low sound. They have almost the whole menu on their chalkboard wall on left wall as you enter the place. It’s a little annoying to strain your neck to look up there and also kind of odd to stand in front of customers seated in front of you as well as behind. The wife and me asked for a menu from the cashier and joined the line to comfortable select items before ordering. We got the Bennie and the Crab Bennie- both delicious and filling. We love to try French Toasts at every brunch place- ordered the Almond Tres Leches one- make sure to ask them for a side order which is 3 stacks(they don’t have that option on their menu) Ordered a Latte and a Toffee nut Cappuccino- nothing exciting there. Wife ordered OJ- which was the bottled kind. That is something I was disappointed to see- maybe fresh squeezed PJ should be a staple to their menu.

I will never eat here again.

I really like the food here. But I do have a complaint about the service. I went in just the other day trying to get some breakfast for myself and my daughter.

I walk in and one of the cooks is giving me a look, staring me down from the moment I walk in to the moment I get to the counter, he wasn't in the kitchen he was getting a drink at the drink machine. By the time I get to the counter he walks back to the kitchen, but was mean mugging me the whole time up until then.

Google says theyre open until 3pm. This was the deciding factor that made me stop to get food here. I wanted breakfast food, but every other breakfast place in the area stopped serving breakfast at 2 or earlier. This is the only breakfast place to be open untill 3.

I walked in at 2:35, at the register I interact with the hostess/cashier and she didn't seem happy to see me at all. Infact she seemed irritated that I was even there. I asked for the silver stack of pancakes and when asked if I wanted a side I said I wanted eggs at first, but had mentioned that it was funny/cool that I could get a side of pancakes with my pancakes. The cashier says something like....

"yea honestly the kitchens trying to clean up so could you just get a side of pancakes?"

I said "Oh, I'm sorry I didn't realize you guys were closing I thought you were open until 3" very sincerely and apologetic.

She responded in a sincere way "We are, the kitchen just likes to start cleaning at 2:40"

I pulled my phone out and at this point it was 2:37, so I said "it's 2:37?" in a confused tone, continued to say "that's ok, we'll just do the chocolate chip pancakes so we don't bother the kitchen"

And that was the whole order. I planned on leaving a tip, but after that, I left 0 tip. I work/have worked in the service industry a long time, I always tip 5 dollars a meal or more, never tipping less than 20% whether I eat at the establishment or get takeout. I always tip well.

I also planned on ordering some steak and eggs for myself, but after the whole experience, from walking in getting mean mugged by one of the cooks, to the interaction with the cashier, I just wanted to get the pancakes for my daughter and leave.

I was planning on sitting down to eat, but it seemed to me that it was a problem that I was even there in the first place. So I got my food to go.

I proceeded to pick up lunch/dinner food for myself at another restaurant near by immediately afterwards. Got it to go, felt like eating at home at this point.

I tipped them what I would've normally tipped and I gave them the tip I would've given the lady working the register at "the French press".

If you don't want to serve people, you don't want to make breakfast after 2pm, that's fine, I get it, everyone else stops at 2, I get it whatever.

But if you're going to say you're open until 3, I expect, as I would assume anyone would, that I would be eligible to be served until 3.

It was 2:37. Not only did she ruin her chance at a tip, she prevented me from spending more money on a meal for myself, and prevented this establishment from my business, or my family's business, for the rest of time. I'm never going to waste my time hoping to get food somewhere that gave me the experience I had. I'll never recommend this place to anyone either.

All because of the genuinely unprofessional conduct I experienced the last and final time I was at the French Press.

If you don't want to be open past 2, just change your hours instead of losing customers...

I am a frequent customer at the French Press especially at the Yosemite location. I’ve always had a great experience with all my visits at the French Press, which is why I was really disappointed today. Jess, the manager was our cashier for today and we didn’t feel welcomed from the start. She didn’t greet us and seemed very annoyed during the entire time my family and I were ordering. From there, we just wanted to quickly make our order because we didn’t feel comfortable. We also didn’t receive a number card, so Crystal (who was really sweet to us) didn’t know who she was taking the food to. From there, we received our food, but I realized the Turkey Melt had bacon and apologized to Crystal and asked her if I could get it remade since my religion has strict dietary restrictions around pork. Crystal let me know she’ll take it back and ask. After a minute, Jess approached our table and said all they can do is take the bacon off but it would be the same sandwich. I let her know that I can’t eat it like that because the bacon still touched the sandwich and she said that’s all they can do. So I let her know I don’t want the sandwich anymore because I can’t eat it when there was bacon touching it. After a few minutes, I approached the cash register and asked Jess if I can get a refund for that meal since I can’t eat it. She told me she wouldn’t be able to refund it and it’s not fair to her or her team that I didn’t catch that there was bacon. I completely understand that it was my fault for not catching it, but from the very beginning, Jess was very rude to us, and again we just quickly wanted to make our order so because we felt uncomfortable, therefore it completely slipped my mind to ask for the bacon to be removed. I tried to explain my side but she wasn’t willing to hear me out and again stated she can give me back the sandwich but they wouldn’t remake it and I wouldn’t get a refund.

I am a Muslim and when pork touches our food, we can no longer eat it because it goes against our dietary restrictions, which I explained to Jess. Again, I own up to it being my fault for not catching the bacon being on the sandwich. But, the experience we received from Jess was very unfortunate and unprofessional and her lack of sensitivity towards my religion and why it wouldn’t be ok to just take off the bacon has made me want to discontinue my visits to the French Press. And it’s even more unfortunate when it’s the manager that acts this way towards my family and I. On the other hand, Crystal was really sweet to us and continued to check in on us to make sure we were ok so I am really appreciative towards employees like Crystal and...

I probably make waitpersons and chefs cringe when I try to order anything, anywhere - and that is quite understandable. I am vegan, gluten-free, and very allergic to onions and garlic. So when wait people and kitchen staff work really hard to find something that I am able to not only eat without having an allergic reaction, but go out of their way to make sure it's something I will enjoy, I absolutely sit up and take notice! That is exactly what the counter staff and kitchen of The French Press on Yosemite St. did for me yesterday. It would have been quite understandable had they shrugged and said, "Wish we could help you, but there's really nothing here". Instead, they must have spent 10-15 minutes talking among themselves trying to see what they could prepare, and then checking with me to see if I'd like their suggestions. I don't know who the chefs were (and I would have thanked them in person before we left, but the place was too busy), but in particular Katrina and Jacki worked very hard - and successfully - to make sure I was pleased, and then delivered a wonderful lunch. They were not only extremely pleasant and patient, the food was delicious. My husband loved his lunch as well. My brother and son had been in earlier and suggested that we check it out, since they had a great breakfast there. So, if you are looking for a good, clean, friendly, cozy place in the Greenwood Village area that has great food, I highly recommend The...
