China Wok — Restaurant in Greenwood

I have been a customer of china wok for years. Unfortunately, the last few times I have been in there, the food isn’t like it used to be. And it seems that the flavors are gone. I wanted to try one more time because their chicken fried rice is my favorite. I was quoted 25 minutes for pick up. My dad got there at 15 minutes till, and they had lost our order. They originally requested about 25-30 min. At this point my dad had paid and requested another 25 minutes. We did not want to wait another 25 minutes and he requested a refund. They didn’t want to give a refund in store. I called and the manager was extremely rude. He interrupted me 8 times and tried saying that I was not wanting to wait 5 minutes for my food and it had been sitting there. I informed him that I was quoted another 25 min and I was back home and wanted a refund. He did not want to do that and instead decided to inform me why it was only a 5 minute wait and how I had supposedly been bothering them about their mongolian beef . I mentioned that I didn’t feel like their food was the same but I hadn’t mentioned Mongolian beef. and he then pressed me further. I had to inform him to stop and I would be calling my bank if he did not give me the refund. He started yelling at me about my refund so I hung up on him. Did you get new management or something because this was the worst Asian food I have ever eaten. I have been coming to this place for around 8 years because they were the only asian restaurant that served the Mushrooms & Chicken I like. Up until this visit, Mushrooms & Chicken was exactly that and nothing more than Mushrooms, chicken and brown sauce. I also loved their Vegetable Fried Rice because they didn't use the nasty yellow rice everyone else does. Nope, not this time, not only did my Mushrooms & Chicken not have lots of brown sauce it was filled with a bunch of vegetables does not taste the same. If I wanted Chicken & Vegetables I would have ordered that. To top it off the container was smaller and I was lucky if I got maybe 5 slices of chicken and 5 slices of mushrooms because it was filled with all the other vegetables including one I wasn't sure what it was (maybe bok choy?), You can guess where I'm going with this, yes they now use the nasty YELLOW rice. Yuck. I was so disappointed when I got home and pulled it out and saw what they gave me. I ate it because I was starving but I think I'll feed the rest to my chickens, if they'll eat it. I drove all the way from IN 37 and County Line Rd and back. I won't be back. What a waste of $10...

We always get Chinese on Thanksgiving and watch Lord of the Rings. Turns out our normal place was closed this Thanksgiving. China Wok was the only Chinese place open out six places we called, and im so glad, because their food was great!

I've lived in Greenwood most of my life and I've eaten at lot of Chinese food in Greenwood. Most of the places IMO are 2-3 stars at best. Eggroll #1 is a 4. China Wok is a solid 5 (for American takeout style Chinese).

When I rate a Chinese takes out place im looking for freshness and quality of ingredients and overall consistency of the food s we ordered (are they all good or are some good and some bad?). We ordered $160.00 worth of food and I'm very pleased to report that it was all very good. The crab Rangoon...tasted like it might have been made in house, maybe the best crab Rangoon I've had on the south side. Everything tasted so fresh!

Give this place a try. It seems like a family run establishment. They were very kind, helped me to my car with my order and had my huge order ready in about 20 minutes.
