I am by no means an expert on NY style pizza but I have visited NY a few times in the past and this is not what I remembered as being "NY style" except maybe that the slices were large and thin. We got a pepperoni 16" and an order of breadsticks. The best way to describe the breadsticks is like a bland version of Fazolis or Olive Garden or maybe more accuralty those breadsticks you got in grade school in the 90's with the rectangular pizza slices. They were almost identical in shape (possible mass produced; if not, kudos to whoever made them so uniform) and had next to no flavor. There was a sort of butter/garlic/herb coating which just made them more greasy than anything. The pizza itself was a huge let down. We moved from an area that also touted NY style pizza and maybe that was what we had become accustomed to but this was not even in the same category. Each slice was unbelievably greasy and had that orange grease film on it. The cheese seemed to have no flavor other than salt and had a strong smell of burnt plastic (like the lower quality cheese you get at Pizza Hut where it's questionable if it can actually be legitimately classified as "cheese"). The pepperoni was fine but nothing exciting. We added some red pepper flakes at home in an attempt to boost any sort of flavor but that didn't help either. On the other hand, the staff was super friendly. All in all, this will be our one and only experience here. (The picture shows SOME of the paper towels that we used to blot the excess grease off of 1/2 the pizza).

Wish it had been better! We didn’t realize it was basically a carry out place only. You could dine in, but they had very few seats. Wasn’t too big of a deal, as there was no one else in there. We had the regular breadsticks with cheese and garlic butter. I would have to say these were my favorite part of the meal, except for the one breadstick that had no seasoning on it…that was kinda disappointing! I loved the seasoning on them! The cheese was tasty and the garlic butter was good too! Our pizza took twice as long to come out as it should have. Not sure why. My hubby had pepperoni and banana peppers on his. Sadly it looked like the peppers were an afterthought…they didn’t look or taste like they’d been baked on the pizza, but rather thrown on afterwards. I had a plain pepperoni slice and one with pepperoni and sausage. They were decently good, but it was nothing special. To me the pizza had little taste and very little sauce, plus the sausage looked undercooked, but I’m sure it was a actually fine….just not pleasant to look at! It wasn’t bad bad, just not our cup of tea. Everyone has different tastes and likes, so at least give it a try if you’re a pizza lover!!

Stopped in for a really late lunch/early dinner today. It's nice having the option to buy by the slice. I know there is Luca and Enzo, but those places are complete and utter trash. Here, you can order by the slice, and customize the toppings to your taste. Most folks in the know will say that the key to a good pizza is the dough, but I disagree. NY Slice has pretty good dough, but for me, the key is the sauce, and they have pretty much nailed it. Not too sweet, not too spicy, and you get just the right amount. Got a couple of slices and a couple of the roni stix with cheese sauce, and I'm good for the day! Like most places these days, they seem to be having issues with finding people that want to work. Only one gentleman working when I was there, presumably the proprietor, and he was exceptionally friendly, despite having to do it all by himself. Definitely give this place a try, and give them a break if it takes a couple minutes longer than you'd like. It's worth the wait!

This is my new FAVORITE pizza now!! Everything was excellent (not fan of cheese sauce in cups, but who cares lol). Everything is BIG...& followed my changes I asked for perfectly from the Grubhub app, so the restaurants do pay close attention. Posting a pic but zoom in on everything b/c everything is so big, I had to take it far & high. The salad I received was so heavy I qlmost dropped it expecting a tiny lil wimpy salad like I get from most pizza spots. They DO NOT SKIMP.... & im happy with each & everything I ordered. I ordered the antipasto salad, I asked for them to place the cooked items that go onto the salad into a side container so my lettuce did NOT wilt, & they did exactly as I asked. I asked if I could remove italian sausage (b/c I am not a fan of Italian sausage, & if they could give me regular sausage, & they did. I Love their pizza not just because they did as I asked, but because they weren't cheap on the size amounts. They deff was NOT skimpy on 1 thing. My salad was humongous, my Stromboli was big enough to feed 2 ppl, their Roni-Stix was the best stuffed bread stix I have EVER had. I am very impressed & my favorite pizza used to be a stuffed crust pizza, but definitely not anymore. I will order from here as much as possible, because I do NOT want them to ever close down. Thank You for a great experience NY Slice.

UPDATE 9/2021 I have ordered here religiously every month or more & I just wanna say how amazing everytime I order here EVERYTHING is! I give my reviews how I see it & what I truly feel. I don't try to give good reviews if they weren't good. Check out my reviews if you need too, sadly, ALOT of my reviews recently have been below standards & not everyone's feels the same, but I only post reviews on what I believe to be true to help others as I read other reviews b4 I order any where. I am only trying to help & I keep ordering from NY Slice & I have YET to be disappointed. I hope my reviews...

My partner and I stumbled upon The NY Slice because my car was getting my tire patched at a nearby tire shop after finding out I had a bad leak unexpectedly. We were on our way back to KY and was visiting Indi for the weekend. We walked there with my doggo and it was a pretty nice day so we decided to sit outside on the bench & give it a try (I love trying NY style pizza)! 🍕

First impressions: Dan (owner) was super friendly & welcoming. The menu was clear, organized & marketed well, had a variety of options and the food was all reasonably priced.

I ordered the lunch combo 1- pepperoni slice with 2 breadsticks & marinara sauce and a soda. Only $8.99 + tax- cannot beat that anywhere, honestly.

Food Impressions: The pizza was delicious!! It was hot, fresh, quality ingredients, crispy, thin crust (just how NY style pizza should be of course)! My first bite of the slice, I told my partner— “I hope this is near us in KY bc it’s amazing.” The breadsticks were great too— crunchy on the outside, fluffy & light on the inside and the marinara sauce tasted great also.

I’m a foodie and have been searching for great quality NY style pizza. My ONLY regret? It not being local/closer to me! I told the owner if he ever shipped his pizza I seriously would buy it and pay that up charge for shipping. It is THAT good. And you can tell Dan is passionate about his food and also his customers experience. Which I also fully respect.

If you’re ever in the area, do yourself a favor— skip the chain dominos across the street, support local & check The NY slice out. I can say the next time I’m near Indi— I’ll make a detour to greenwood to grab another slice….. or 5– but who’s...
