Ladies and gents, gather ‘round and let me regale you with a tale of frozen wonderment from the heart of Greer, SC. I recently had the pleasure of indulging in the creamy dreamscape that is Abbott’s Frozen Custard, and let me tell you, it’s not just your average ice cream parlor—oh no, it’s an oasis of sweet delight!
From the moment you step foot into Abbott’s, you’re greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that practically screams, “Hey there, partner! Ready for a taste of happiness?” The staff is as friendly as your favorite neighbor who always brings the best potluck dish. They’re eager to help you navigate the dizzying array of custard options with a smile that could melt even the coldest of hearts—or at least the coldest of custards.
Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: the frozen custard. It’s smoother than a jazz saxophonist’s midnight serenade and richer than a high-stakes poker game. Each scoop is like a velvety hug for your taste buds. Whether you’re diving into a classic vanilla or taking a wild ride with their seasonal flavors, you’re in for a treat that’s as memorable as a high school reunion with the cool kids.
Speaking of flavors, Abbott’s has a menu that’s practically bursting with options. They’ve got everything from the simple joys of chocolate to adventurous combos that might just make your grandma’s recipe book look a bit bland in comparison. And don’t even get me started on the toppings! It’s like a candy carnival exploded on top of your custard, and who doesn’t love a little carnival action?
The ambiance is also top-notch. It’s cozy and charming, the kind of place where you might find yourself daydreaming about your next visit while still savoring the last bite of your current one.
In summary, Abbott’s Frozen Custard in Greer is the real deal. It’s where frozen custard dreams come true and calories are just a figment of your imagination. So, next time you find yourself in the area and craving a sweet escape, make your way to Abbott’s. Your taste buds will thank you, and you might just leave with a smile as wide as the Grand Canyon. Keep on...
Read moreWhat has always been a 4 star experience at Abbott’s has sadly become a 2 in light of my last recent visit. Stopped in on a week night; tables were dirty and garbage was on the floor. I would be willing to overlook this (since I blame customers for failing to pick up after themselves) had it been busy, but two customers were in the entire place, and two very bored employees were standing behind the counter. No “hi” or any other acknowledgement; in fact, I almost had the uncomfortable impression that they were upset at a customer walking in, but I just chalked it up to being 8:30 on a weeknight. While my mother went to use the restroom, I ordered two double-scoop Chocolate Almond cones for us. The older woman handed me two sloppy cones that didn’t even have a full scoop of ice cream, let alone two. I asked her in disbelief, “These are double scoops?” She frowned and didn’t say a word except to tell me the total. Then my mother exited the bathroom, she notified the woman that there was no toilet paper in the restrooms; the woman just glanced at us without a word. We left hastily, only to discover that there wasn’t even any ice cream IN the cone itself. We paid $9 for a 1/2 scoop of ice cream plopped messily onto an empty cone.
I’m from Upstate NY and loved the original Abbott’s location as a child. But after my recent experience, it has prevented me from giving them another shot. It’s sad when employees can make a visit unpleasant and deter customers from frequenting an establishment. Perhaps I’ll give it another go in a few months and adjust my review. Until then, I’ll stick to Culver’s- excellent frozen custard served by excellent,...
Read moreI am an employee of Abbott’s and have been here for almost a year. This has been an amazing work environment from the work we do to the people we work with. The shop is very well-run and organized, and the bosses that we have are incredibly involved in working with their employees and the shop. Throughout my time here, I have learned many lessons through mistakes I have personally made as well as lessons that Mark and Amanda, our bosses, have been able to teach us. They have been able to instill many good Christian values into our lives, and I am beyond grateful for the work they put in to pouring into the lives of their employees. Despite mistakes that have been made, as will happen in any environment, Mark and Amanda have been beyond gracious in helping employees learn from their mistakes. Working at Abbott’s has been one of the best decisions that I have made as it has provided me with a job, but also more than that it has given me a second family. The work environment that Mark and Amanda create is one where employees are encouraged and guided to learn and grow, in both their personal and professional lives. Everything that I have learned through my time at Abbott’s has and will be beneficial to me for the rest of my life, and I will forever be grateful to Mark, Amanda, and the employees of Abbott’s for being such a major part in my life. This review is also in no way brought on by anyone related to Abbott's but was my personal thoughts that I...
