Laurenda's Family Restaurant & Catering — Restaurant in Greer

A lunch favorite when I'm wanting southern comfort food. Served cafeteria style but wait staff is especially helpful to me as I use a walker. My family introduced me to this restaurant when I was visiting one weekend m.k ore than a year ago. Four of us came for dinner and it was my treat. I was the last in line and because it was my first visit I was offered a free dessert. My daughter had their salad bar but my adult granddaughter and I had the regular meal with entree and a couple of veggies while my son in law had an extra large serving of fried chicken plus 3 veggies and our total bill was only $32. The food was hot and very by good. On my last visit a week or so ago I had no problem with my food or service but it was extremely cold out that day and my table was too close to the front door so every time someone came in or left I g ou t a little huge whoosh of really cold air so I really didn't enjoy a leisurely lunch as I quickly ate and left. Before leaving I used the ladies room and I did just about freeze in there. There was absolutely no o heat in that restroom and it was like being outside. Then there was only ice cold water for hand washing and that just in rested my discomfort. I am glad I didn't use the restroom at the beginning or during my lunch because I could not have eaten my meal because I was too cold. I went directly to my car and once I started it. I turned my seat warmers to high and sat there until my heater was blasting hot air so that I could thaw out. What a wonderful experience! As always, Laurenda and her crew took wonderful care of me. We contracted with Laurenda to cater a corporate event and they made me look so good. From breakfast to lunch to snacks at break time, they took care of it ALL and not in a "prepackaged" plan. The food was scratch made and provided the perfect way to enjoy our time away from the planning table. We received rave reviews from our president and Board of Directors complementing Laurenda's food and the helpfulness of her staff. It was down-home, Southern cooking with the presentation expected from the most Upscale restaurant. There was a comfort in working with Laurenda to plan the event. It felt like she was part of our team and truly wanted the event to go well, not for her sake, but for mine. It felt like working with family and when the day was done...I had a take-home box of goodies to remind me that Laurenda and her folks made my day and deliciously filled the stomachs of our executive staff and directors. Laurenda's catered our wedding at the end of September with VERY SHORT NOTICE and they did not disappoint. I had attended another wedding they catered and was impressed enough to remember them when it was time to pick a caterer for our wedding. The quality and flavor of the food is incredible! So much so that we were more than happy to pack up leftovers and freeze them....but they honestly didn't even last long in the freezer. And I lost count of how many people asked me who catered and commented on how great the food was. The staff was hardworking and super friendly and left absolutely no task to be covered by anyone else. I loved the way they displayed the food and matched their flowers to the color theme of our wedding. It was as if they were in on the planning every step of the way. At the end of the night they packed everything up, cleaned up, and had a basket of treats and full plates of food for my husband and I to enjoy after the guests left.
