Have visited numerous times before rating and reviewing this place. On every occasion the food was tasty, authentic and extremely fresh. Burritos, tacos, tortas, tamales (if you want tamales, go very early, otherwise gone). Reasonably priced from 1.75 for tacos to 5.50 for tortas. A panaderia inside with a large window of sweets and bread. The place is a hole-in-the-wall, booth seating against the windows, looking at the parking lot and Poinsett hwy, old but clean (Reminds me of the authentic places in South California and Baja). The young girl on the counter (menu above) may be limited in english (or has an attitude but you give it right back and she relaxes - don't take it personal). The food is authentic Mexican, so don't expect (or) order "chips and salsa" or don't ask for beans and rice in your burritos (you can have them on the side!), your tacos will come face open or folded in a basket with just the meat and you dress them up anyway you want at the salsa bar. The salsa bar is very clean, tidy and all the items were very fresh. We're going back for the food the price and the...
Read moreThis is a great little place. They have an adequate amount of seating and have very fresh foods. I saw that they feature tacos (authentic real mexican tacos), burritos, tamales and quesadillas. I had the tacos: chicken, brisket and marinated pork. All three were good and I think the pork being my favorite. I wanted tamales but they were out which i heard they always sell out fast and they open early and from what i gathered with 4 or 5 hours they sell out. I'm anxious to try some and was told i can call in and have some reserved so i will eventually get around to that and I'm highly certain they will be awesome if the rest of the place is an indicator. They also have an authentic mexican bakery case with real handmade desserts and fresh baked bread, the selection and prices...
Read moreI had high hopes for this place, especially when accompanying my husband, who is fluent in Spanish. The floor and tables were dirty, and the woman behind the counter was unfriendly and seemed annoyed that I couldn't speak Spanish. Before I could even order, she said they were busy and our wait would be 20 minutes for whatever it was we ordered. Lo and behold, her demeanor changed when she realized my American-looking husband actually spoke fluent Spanish.
Food was subpar; $8 for a sandwich that came with nothing else, just the sandwich. Tacos were mediocre. Do yourself a favor and check out tacos elsewhere- especially at the authentic Mexican taco stand in the...
