This is my favorite Chinese Restaurant, I love the Lee's GARDEN Chow Mien along with several other items on their menu. They have the best egg flower soup that I've ever tasted anywhere! The Hot & Sour Soup also very good if you like Hot & Sour? I'm really surprised at the negative reviews? I've been eating at this restaurant for probably at least 30 years! It is a smaller building, probably seats 75 - 100 people at most! Whether there's a full restaurant or hardly anyone there, I personally have always gotten good service! They almost always come back to my table several times asking if there's anything else they can get for me? I tend to drink a lot of water and their usually good to keep my water glass full! But I also tip very well when I get good service and I've been eating there for so many years that the staff all know me pretty well! So they know good service equals a good tip, bad service bad tip if any tip? Staff has always been friendly to me, family, and friends! Last time I ate at Lee's I noticed their dishes have gotten smaller then they use to be! Guess they weren't making enough money! But food I ordered was still good! Their fried Pork rice also isn't as good as it use to be! They also had different staff that I've not seen before! I'm wondering now if Lee's has changed owners? I will be extremely disappointed if they screw up this restaurant, it's been my favorite for so many years and none of the other Chinese are near as good! I will go to Kwang Chows on King Rd. Just west of 82nd ave. , but I only like their Mandarin Noodles and their spring rolls are fantastic! Their prices have gotten a little high as well! I've found that usually every Chinese Restaurant has at least one item on their menu I like, it's just going threw all the items till you find the good item you like! Lee's was the exception where I liked several of...
Read moreI love Chinese food & Whenever I have to stay with my elderly grandma I like to pick up Chinese food for dinner and have been going to Happy Chinese for sometime and have been very happy with them as the food is really good and very inexpensive . But Sadly they closed December 29th last year and so I have to find a new place. I remember several years ago when my grandfather was still alive we used to come here and it was good so I decided to come back. Boy to I regret that decision. I looked at the menu on their website right before placing my order to see what they had and upon finding out we could get what we used to get for almost the same price as Happy Chinese I placed the order. Only to find out when I got there that the price online was not correct instead of our meals being $12.00 each which is what it said on their website our meals were $15.00 each. And when I complained the lady handed me a take out menu showing the higher price. So there's no excuses for not having the correct price online. As it's totally unreasonable to expect people who have never eaten in your restaurant before or haven't in several years (My grandfather passed away in 2017 & I haven't been there since before he passed.) Also the food wasn't that great. The BBQ port was dry n & everything else didn't taste nearly as good as happy Chinese. Needless to say I will not...
Read moreThe food was great, but the service is terrible. When my friend and I walked in, we were not greeted. The lady just escorted us over to a table and didn't say a word. The other woman who handed us the menus was on the phone and didn't even give us eye contact as if she was scared to look in our direction. The staff acted as if you're bothering them, even if you ask for something as simple as an extra napkin (they only provided one by the way). There were no other customers besides my friend and I until later. They do not check on their customers until they're almost done. They also stare at you in the corner (weird, right?) as if they're trying to see your next move. So rude and silly. It's also been rumored that they are not very kind to people of color, particularly African/ Black Americans. I didn't want to believe it, but my friend and I experienced it first hand. As I mentioned before, my friend and I were watched, not greeted and given silent treatment, but when the Caucasian customers came in, the staff greeted them with a smile and light conversation. I will NOT...
