My husband and I had discovered this place on Grub Hub looking for something new to try. Unfortunately, Grub Hub was a fail. Our driver never delivered and that's just a whole other issue... so my husband had called and explained what happened about an hour before they were closing and they were SUPER nice. VERY welcoming to come on by and they knew the order and would be happy to make it, just allow him 15 minutes and it'd be ready. While waiting for the order the gentleman was SO friendly and had a friendly conversation with my husband. When my husband got back with the food it was AMAZING! The portion size was very good but even better was how good it tasted. Everything was fresh and legit tasted "homemade". I had the trout, zucchini, red beans, and shared a slice of cheese cake. Usually meals like this I finish right away because of a small portion size. This one I have left overs. I'm usually not a cheesecake person but tried a bite of it since my husband ordered it... WOW! BEST CHEESECAKE EVER! Not like those frozen store bought things. It was more of a "fluffy" texture. So what originally turned into an annoying night of not getting our food delivered turned into a blessing in disguise. The bottom line is the food is amazing, worth the price, and the staff is just as amazing. I think we found our new favorite go to spot!

Just an update as of 2024 We still love eating here. The food is consistently amazing and the staff is still super friendly. Please...

Decor: From the exterior and interior you wouldn’t expect this restaurant to be anything more than average. Trust me you don’t want to skip this restaurant. I happened to be in the area to pick up my hertz rental car and searched for something with good reviews on both google and yelp; 4.5 stars for both sites.

Service: Service was great server was friendly and attentive to all guests I saw him service. He even remembered returning guests preferences. Was served the food by one of the cooks which was another nice interaction.

Food: Fried catfish and shrimp entouffee were delicious. The catfish was fried with a crispy batter that was seasoned nicely. The homemade tarter sauce dip paired nicely with the fish. Never had shrimp entouffee but I certainly enjoyed every flavorful bite.

Fried chicken with gravy was flavorful and tasty. Paired with fried okra and corn grits. Both sides were solid as well although I feel like the fried okra could use a bit more seasoning and could do without the corn kernels in the grits.

Overall portion sizes were great considering the price. Would definitely return if back in the New Orleans area. Really great portions for both entrees...

Wow.. what a surprise. I can't tell you how many times my husband and I have passed by this place, paying it no attention. Today, we decided to yelp and see what may be good to eat that's around. I saw good reviews for this place so we gave it a try.

Food The food was really good and everything was extremely flavorful. We had the Wings with Shrimp Fried Rice, Ravioli, Buddy's Burgers Fries and Zucchini. Everything was really good. You could tell the burgers were hand molded and they did not skimp on the beef. The wings were really good and not really spicy all though they say cooked with jalapenos. The fried rice was one of the most surprisingly good dishes. Fresh shrimp and super flavorful rice. My husband and I look forward to coming back to try some of the other things on that menu.

Cost Super affordable. Cheap appetizers and the entrees are between $10-$17.

Service Super nice server that really knows his menu. It wasn't super busy so he seemed to be the only server working so service may have been a little slower than usual but still really good. All of our food came out piping hot.

Don't let the exterior fool you. This place is 100%...
