This is world class shawarma, as good as any you’ll find in Europe or the Middle East.
The mixed shawarma wrap is complex and subtle, with a suggestion of cinnamon and clove in the meat and a balancing acidity from the pickled vegetables. Everything is wrapped in khobs as soft as a downy pillow.
The fries are clearly inspired by Rally’s. They’re medium-cut, incredibly crunchy on the outside but velvety-soft on the inside, and mouth-wateringly salty with a sort of smoky chipotle seasoning.
The food is presented in an attractive tableau, fries stacked neatly like logs seasoning for next year’s fires on the one side, and the shawarma cut crisply in half on the other. In one final stroke of artistry, they’ve tucked the aluminum foil into the shawarma itself, which prevents any dripping.
I drove an hour round trip to eat this shawarma. Although I am full the point of bursting, I would do it again in a heartbeat. Please, Sultan, come to New...

Edit: SHWARMA SHACK'S FOOD IS TRASH AND OVER PRICED TRASH AT THAT. I tried this place because of all the good reviews and a food influencer on Instagram. I don't know who's paying People to leave the reviews but it's misleading. My chicken was so dry it was almost like chicken jerky. I went a couple of times to see if maybe it was just a bad experience once but everything was the same each time unappetizing food. Please take this review into consideration and don't waste your money. Go to Cleopatra on Manhattan before the library and eat real enjoyable Mediterranean food. Or if you don't mind a little travel go to Nola and eat at Lebanon's Cafe {my favorite} on Carrollton or Mona's Cafe on Banks street. Shawarma Shack food is trash and overpriced...
Read moreSo I can't say that the food is not good because it really is. But I have gone there many times and had small issues here and there but it seemed like the more I go, the issues get bigger. Everytime I go, I have tell them that I don't want the taziki sauce because of the dairy, so I asked for sweet sauce in replace. A few times, I have gotten the taziki and I can't have the gyros. I guess I have to check the food the second they hand it to me or else I will drive 15 mins back home just to be disappointed that I can't eat it. Also, be cautious of the time you place your order to getting your food, it may take about 20 mins sitting by the drive thru window waiting. I might give these a try in the future but for now, I'm just...
