Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse — Restaurant in Griffin

Worst management ever!! The cook at the hibachi table was good to be new and the food was good, but unfortunately, the service we received was not. There is no way any of my family go to this restaurant again. I specifically made a reservation because of two elderly members in our family. I made them early for 5:30 PM. We arrive to the restaurant appropriately 15 minutes ahead of our reservation. There are obviously no hibachi tables available and the hostess informed us It would be about 15 minutes after our scheduled reservation to be sat. It was an hour! And being that it was on Saturday night before Mother’s Day, there was no way we could leave and go somewhere else and get sat, that is another reason I made sure it was a place I could do a reservation. They obviously had sat tables without reservations soon before we got there because patrons at the hibachi table were not even eating and the cook not even approach the table. Another group came in right behind us same thing 530 reservations and no tables. I understand that people can be a little late sitting at a table but it was obvious this group had literally just sat down maybe 10-15 minutes earlier. Finally a table becomes available. A very kind waitress (there was only one kind one by the way-another waitress bullied her the entire time we were at the restaurant ) informed us our table was ready.— another waitress runs up and tells her “oh no we can’t seat them there…. We have a big party coming in that may arrive and we need that space for them!!”! at this point I am just so over it, my party was tired of waiting, everyone was disappointed -it had made an evening we were excited about very disappointing. We finally get sat… the other family that was waiting for a table had been sat- the family that had also come in for 530 reservation but they had not even waited , because they were waiting for another six to sit down with them-ridiculous as they had two children!! we sit down, don’t have enough menus, and the waitress tries to rush us to order because the other family have been sitting there. -It truly was a debacle. We had the waitress that told the other sweet lady not to sit us as our waitress. We were definitely going to reduce tip, but did not have that opportunity because even though we were split for our bill, and two groups of three for our check, they automatically add a gratuity to the check, this is a very true and honest review of what happened… I have noticed that either the owner or the manager snaps back with very harsh responses when there is a negative review. This is very unprofessional and I’m sure keeps mini from doing a review. Lesson satisfactory. We will not be back. Forgot to mention the way they sat two of our party their back was to the cook the entire time and could not even see...

This place is friggin disgusting....cold food....they microwaved and vegetables were still cold...brown lettuce in salad....luke warm nasty soup....horrible service....nvr got a refill...whatever they use to cook the noodles with made our 1.5yr old that eats noodles everywhere break out....probably the msg.....we all feel sick.....ive literally got to go buy pepto bismo and a can of coke asap to wash this down and settle our stomachs.....oh...and the shrimp was rank....couldnt eat it straight out of a rotten bucket of shrimp it smelled like....the employees do not care...apparently everyone there is used to crappy food and service......LOOKING LIKE A GOOD PLACE TO GET FOOD POISOINING.....MY WIFE AND I HAVE SOUNDS COMING FROM OUR STOMACHS THAT I'VE NEVER HEARD BEFORE AND I FEEL LIKE I GOTTA RUN FOR THE NEAREST RESTROOM TO PUKE AND HAVE AN EXPLOSION.....WE BOTH FEEL LIKE SHARP OBJECTS ARE POKING AT OUR GUTS AND ELSEWHERE...stopped to get our other kid a happy meal and my wife and I both had to use restroom....multiple times....now to kroger for pepto bismo....and to run to restroom again.....I LITERALLY HAD TO STOP 6 TIMES BETWEEN GRIFFIN AND THOMASTON.....THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING! THE MANAGEMENT/OWNER DIDN'T CARE---THE WAITRESS WAS HORRIBLE AND YEAH---WHAT DO YOU EXPECT---NASTY NASTY NASTY IS...

I went this weekend with my little family. First we stood at the doorway for like 15mins before someone came to sit us. The sit us in the last three chairs which would have been fine had for starts the group had been there a while everyone had gotten and finished their soup and salad before we even got a chance to sit down, we were then rushed to hurry to make a decision on what we were eating and drink..

We order Volcano rolls for an appetizer, and we really shouldn't have they weren't that good but the presentation was beautiful. My daughter (6 years old) got the kids Salmon hibachi, I got steak and scallops, and her dad got steak, chicken and shrimp.

Chief performance was nothing special and he wasn't to engaging with us even though the party was huge. He didn't season anything really the rice was bland and so was everything else. in exception to my daughter's salmon she loved it and the sauce and she let me try the smallest piece and surely she had the best dish among the group, Maybe it was a bad night however personally I am not impressed with this establishment customer service or their food.

Maybe i'll make another trip and my mind will be changed, but for now 2 stars is doing the...
