Marco's Pizza — Restaurant in Griffin

I'm normally not the type of person who writes reviews however this one deserved recognition I believe. I wish I could find more places online to give them a thumbs up.

Up where I work today we ordered from Marco's. A co-worker of mine had suggested that the food was awesome so we decided sure why not let's try it.

I tried to order online and one of my bad experiences but also understandable experiences is that apparently orders over a certain amount automatically are canceled online. My complaint here is that it should had at least told you either in advance that orders online can only be up to so much or tell you at the end that this has been cancelled for so and so reason. I however had to call up the store and learn about this instead which I didn't like all that great...

We try to order a lot of our meals online due to us having important clients coming in the front door a lot of times.

Anyway, so on to the ordering and food...

I was able to order over the phone successfully. We had to go back over the orders to confirm that everything was there but it would be suggested anyway when your order is over $150!

Now the food... As far as the food goes I got very positive comments for the most part. Several people ordered different things. A few different subs, couple of meat supremo customized pizzas, a custom pizza, and a meatball baking.

I ordered a meatball baking and also a large meat supremo with buffalo sauce. Overall the pizza was very good. I love how every bite had a piece of meat of some kind and love how the pizza had real pepperoni on it and not that stuff you see at like Dominos and Pizza Hut. Real meat is quality meat. I was impressed by that.

What made me want to give the review though was the meatball baking. You know for $10 I wasn't honestly expecting too much, but when you have what tasted like home made meatballs and A LOT of homemade meatballs for $10 that is what impressed me. There were meatballs both on top and on the bottom. I was overall very pleased by this dish and I have plans to order it in the future.

Other employes told me they enjoyed it too one of them had banana pepper and beef pizza and they said it was "darn good"

Now... like for any review there should be at least a couple of minor complaints and there were a couple. Somebody who ordered the cinna squares made out like that there was enough cinnamon and that there was plenty for the price however she said they tasted kind of dry to her. another co-worker stated that the chicken toscano sub did not have as much meat as they had expected for that price. They also mentioned that the bread was not as rich as they thought or was lead to believe by the menu advertisement.

Overall though I would give it a 9/10 but because I can't do that I will give it a 5/5 as I feel it was good food and plenty of food for the price. If I ever need to order somewhere and make sure I get full I will order here again and get me another...

Always good food but this location lacks a bit in consistency of the amount of toppings depending on who is making the order, regardless of time or day.

One of our normal go-to pizza is a double old world pepperoni, double mushroom and extra cheese ... the last 6 of our orders over a 4 month period have had varied outcomes, all of which were below our expectation.

In some cases we've upped our order to triple old world pepperoni and triple mushroom just to ensure that we get more than single order amounts as it tends to vary greatly each time.

In one instance, we ordered triple pep / triple mushroom & double cheese, we checked the order before checking out with the cashier and commented that it appeared like single amount toppings, and while they did offer to re-make it, we elected to take it as-is due to our time constraints.

Aside from toppings consistency, we've never had any other order accuracy issues and while the prices are a bit steep, the staff has always been very pleasant & upbeat!

In comparison, the 2 locations in McDonough consistently provided the same pizza toppings on our orders for several years; After moving to the Griffin area, we found that the above consistency is not so consistent based upon location......

Still a big fan of the food, but this store could use a bit of QA...
