This was supposed to be a nice dinner out for my Birthday, and it turned into a disaster because of this restaurant. I'm SOOO Disappointed. Please take the other reviews with a grain of salt as the food is not as good as they want you to believe. It is overpriced and blah. First, we were sited outside, it was nice but took forever for staff to take our drink order. Then the table next to use wanted their heater on but it was too nice out for that, and we had to move inside or burn up from the heat. The seats are not comfortable either. Once inside they didn't have the drink, we wanted so we were fine with ordering a different one later as we were paying, they found the drink we originally asked for and asked if we wanted a glass of it. LIKE WHAT we were literally walking out the door. The food... We ordered the lobster rolls, and it came with a salad. The salad was ok, but the lobster roll was disgusting. I'm not sure how he cooked it or what sauce he put on it, but it was gross. We left more than half the food on the plates. $125 with a 20% tip for two people to leave over half the food on the plate. Staff was talking more to each other than with guest and there were so many flies inside. GROSS. The whole experience was bad and we ended up going to a different restaurant because we were hungry when we left Blue Moon over Avila. Save your money and go to the pub next door!! Yes we still tipped 20% because our waitress was nice just not efficient. After we left, we wish we wouldn't have tipped though.

Enjoyed an early dinner at Sunset for Date Night with my husband on the patio. It was a wonderful night although a bit chilly but they turned on a couple heat lamps and with a jacket it was perfect. As part of Restaurant Month we started with the Dinner Salad and Onion Soup Á La Lyonnaise. The Salad was light and refreshing with pears and gorgonzola, and the soup was the opposite very heavy a little salty although the carmelized onions had a great flavor. For the main courses we ordered the Chicken Basquaise and the Linguine and Clams. The chicken was warm and comforting with delicious tiny potatoes and a huge quarter portion. The linguine was a little too heavy with overwhelming butter and oil in the pasta, but the clams were great. For dessert we enjoyed a rich chocolate mousse and a pistachio ice cream sandwich with fresh fruit on the side, really tasty and great way to end the night! It was a romantic dinner with great service and wonderful ambiance.

We stopped in for lunch today without a reservation and were promptly seated on the patio. It was a gorgeous sunny day - perfect for enjoying the amazing view of the beach and pier from the patio. The restaurant is a French Bistro, and plays lovely French music that suits the view and creates amazing ambience. The server was cheerful and charming and the blue berry soda (macerated blueberries, basil and lime with sparkling water) was fantastic. The Onion Soup Lyonnaise was perfect. My husband ordered Linguine, which, when it finally arrived (kitchen order mixup), was also fabulous. Our server was very attentive and apologetic for the delay, and compensated us for the price of the Linguine and extra beverage while we waited. With the exception of the delay, I would give 5 stars, and completely recommend this French Cafe to all!

Stormy day in Avila. Booked a table early 5:30 and arrived on time first people in the restaurant.

Charcuterie plate to start with …. Totally underwhelming except for the onion , I think, jam. Cold cuts and cheeses were boringly tasteless. The pate or fours gras type slices were tasty. But come on guys we have good and even great American cheese even good blue cheese ( Humboldt Fog).

Madam had the croque monsieur , toasted ham and cheese, again the sandwich looked great but cheese was underwhelming. In the end she didn’t eat the toast. The salad was edible.

I had the mushroom ravioli with chicken. The dish was not at all seasoned. And it’s embarrassing to sit there trying to shake table salt out of those ridiculously small shakers. The dish had shaved Parmesan on it but nothing like enough to flavor the plate. No bread was served or offered in case you wanted to mop the sauce which I didn’t.

Half way through my ravioli I came across a kitchen error on my plate. Enough for me to return the plate at that point. I get it these things happen. It’s how they fix the issue decides me on a place.

When the bill came they gave me 50% off the cost of my entree.

We didn’t...

My husband and I were celebrating our 47th anniversary and reserved a table for this at Blue Moom. When we arrived on June 15th at 7pm and checked in at the outdoor stand w/the young woman we were shown to one of the worst tables in the restaurant inside in the back by the restrooms and busy outlet for serving w/noise and lots of people going back and forth…there was no reserved sign on the table as we saw on the best outdoor and indoor tables. We told the greeter it was our anniversary and we had a reservation and she insisted on seating us at only this very poorly located table or nothing else was available. We had indicated it was our anniversary on Open Table. We walked away and walked back on front street w/o a reservation to the Ocean Grill where we were treated graciously w/o a reservation by Thaddeus and served by Marissa at a lovely table for 2 w/a view of the ocean. My husband has a serious medical condition and this was an extra special occasion for us and we were so touched by the way we were treated by the Ocean Grill restaurant w/o a reservation. We were so disappointed by the rude treatment at Blue Moon…can’t ever...
