Baytown Seafood — Restaurant in Groves

As I walked in to pick up my order there were 3 employees within 5 ft of the door and none of them greeted me or even acknowledged someone had just walked in the door. I walked to the counter and stood there 4-5 minutes each of the 3 employees walked past me several times but still no acknowledgement. One of the employees even walked around the counter and stood directly in front of me while looking for something and even hollered over me to another employee but guess what.... still not even a hello... finally one of the employees asked if I had been helped and went to get my food. When she came back and completed the transaction she said "thank you" and gave me my change and walked off and left my food on the counter. Due to social distancing there's a table between you and the counter so it was very difficult for me to reach my food because I'm short. When I got home I noticed they did not give me any gravy with the chicken fried steak (I ordered two) but they gave me cocktail sauce instead... Um NASTY!! Not to mention the chicken fried steak is soaking in grease, the fried okra is hard and each order had a very small portion of fries. So disappointing. They definitely dropped the ball...

I ordered bacon wrapped grilled shrimp, which was delicious and good portion size. I either didn't notice or it wasn't stated that there was also jalapeno pepper in the wrap rendering it too spicy for me. So, I just took the jalapeno pepper out. The salad is the usual iceberg lettuce/tomato variety as well. Dirty rice .. a little on mushy side. Hush puppies (extra) were absolutely scrumptious. Wait staff friendly, but sometimes hard to find when needing condiments, etc, but then it was a Sunday noonish time. Portions big enough though, I had to take home leftovers.

I would likely visit it again and order something different not so overwhelming in flavor by bacon, etc. It's not their doing, it's my not knowing -- the shrimp was great and I'm sure if I order a more traditional shrimp dish I'll be happier.

My friend's daughter ordered the crawfish dish -- it was absolutely humongous looking :)

Family-style restaurant feel, lots of laughing, friendly, chatting, neighborly type...

Went there a little after 9pm and was seated. Waitress took our order of drinks and asked if we was ready to order. I told her we wasn't ready yet. 2 min later another lady comes to our table to ask us if we was ready to order, I was still seeing what I wanted. Then she stated that their kitchen was closing soon and they needed us to order. So we ordered 2 pounds of crawfish to start then she said she'll be back to get our order of whatever else we wanted. 2 min later the original waitress comes back and says the kitchen was closed. I still didn't know what I wanted and felt rushed so I just ordered some boudain balls. The crawfish wasn't good. No flavor and the season was on the outside. An older guy comes in like 20 min later and orders food. But I thought their kitchen was closed. I felt like I was rushed to order and if their kitchen was closing someone should have told us that before they seated us to a table. First and...
