Slow, rude service!
My husband and I went to this Whataburger last Friday 1- 19- 18. We got there just after 6pm and decided to go inside since the drive thru line had 3 cars and there was no line inside. As soon as we walked inside we realized the place was filled with a white smoke. We figured there was just something wrong with ventilation and ordered our meal to-go.
After sitting down to wait for our order for about 5-10 mins a few other guests had walked in, and another customer that was waiting next to us was asked how long the wait was. The customer told the guy it was taking forever and to go somewhere else. The guest then walked out.
After waiting for more than 30mins on our food and seeing everyone that came in after us get food, my husband approached the counter. No one said anything to him, they just put their hand out for the ticket. He then came to sit next to me to wait for our food, I assumed. Then another worker came up and asked what we were waiting for. We told her we had been there for almost 40 mins but another worker had taken our ticket. The woman just SHRUGGED HER SHOULDERS in response and walked away. Didn't even try to make an excuse or apologize for losing our order. We finally walked out of that place just before 7pm with our TO-GO order.
Now let me tell you about what it looked like behind the counter while we waited patiently.
It was not busy on the inside, and not too busy in drive-thru. You could tell because the workers were having a great conversation, just hanging out around the counter. More than one worker rang themselves up for items and then got their items and went on break during this time. There was no haste to work and no stress that comes with a rush in the food industry. There was no excuse for losing our order, and no one apologized or seemed to care that customers were waiting. No one approached us until we'd sat for almost 40mins. Mind you, we were sitting right in front watching everything.
I will never go back to this establishment again. I'll drive to Bridge City or the Nederland Whataburger before I come back...
Read moreThis is the worst Whataburger I’ve ever been to. If driving to the next nearest one inconveniences you, take the inconvenient route. I attempted to reach the drive thru via the main entrance and it was completely blocked by an 18-wheeler, with the exception of a small gap between a parked vehicle. I pulled into a curbside spot and called the store to let them know I was here for a drive thru mobile order but the drive thru was blocked, not upset about it at all. The man who answered the phone was irate from the jump, telling me the lobby is closed (so bring it from the back?) and they have a truck unloading (obviously?) and to pull in through the front. I told him I had, and couldn’t squeeze between the truck and car parked. He then began yelling at me, saying “MA’AM THE DRIVE THRU IS OPEN YOU HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE FRONT”. If he hadn’t gotten himself so frustrated and confused, he probably would have realized the only way in was through the furthest back entrance (maybe he knew that and his anger just rendered him stupid?). I have no idea why he kept repeating himself when the left side of the front is an exit, blocked, and the right side was, again, blocked. I was able to squeeze between the truck and the car after leaving the parking lot completely and pulling in through the very back, but if I hadn’t already paid for my meal I would have driven off. The woman at the window was nice but told me they didn’t have regular ranch so they gave me jalapeño. I drove to a different location and paid the “$.89” for a ranch. I will never go back to this location again. PSA: working at Whataburger probably sucks. Maybe if you hate people, get a job that removes you from any equations involving customer service. I paid over $20 for a single meal today and it feels like I paid...

Service ? HORRIBLE AND TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE WITH NO EXCUSE !! The young lady at the register was new and taking a phone order on a cell phone when we got there. THAT IS NOT HET JOB TO DO !!!!! AND, WHEN SHE IS NEW WITH CUSTOMERS LINING UP MORE AND MORE ?? NO !!
One young lady came to help her speed up the phone order after WE had been standing there 8 minutes. Then it took 2 or 3 more minutes to finalize the order and hang up the phone.
No one came to open the other register. I think I saw a manager ( using that title very loosely !! ) one time when she peeked around to the front and turned and walked away !!! It's apparent she is 500% absent in the knowledge of the responsibilities of a manager !!! It was a pathetic site to see in this restaurant.
My family and I have been eating in this restaurant guessing 15-20 years. We have never seen such a display if mismanagement inside those doors !!!!
We we're halfway through eating and people were lined up almost to the door as they were when we finally got our order placed. And, people were getting tired of standing and waiting and leaving.
Ms. Manager, your job in food service is to be aware and help employees when needed. I don't think Whataburger regional management plans for you to sit in your office or peek-and-hide when work needs to be done.
Lady, what would happen if I was a secret shopper for the company ?? I tell you what would happen. You would have been fired on the spot at that minute I observed this joke of management !!!!!
Get with the program and try to get back customers you lost last night !!
