I’ve being a customer of Party City since 1991 when I was just a little kid. I have so many fond memories of finding my favorite Halloween costumes and everyday merchandise since then, but at the same time there’s being a good amount of negative experiences that happened while visiting the store t Guaynabo.
I don’t know if this issue starts with the franchise owner who still thinks that the only people that buy at the store are the “social high class” and “privilege middle class” but many of their employees doesn’t know what is the meaning of respect to their loyal customers who invest in their store every year.
In different Halloween seasons there’s always being certain employees who start chasing to a level of harassing because they think that if you don’t look like the stereotypical “high class” individual, then you are going to do shoplifting.... even I’m the kind of customer who does not touch merchandise that I’m definitely interested. They can be extremely judgmental to a level of pure ignorance.
The worst experience was during the 2017 Halloween 🎃 Season. One of store managers was the perfect example that if you give power to a stupid and ignorant person, you’re going to get the biggest & worst tyrant of them all. She not only had the audacity to judge me based on my clothing design, and even whispering to the security employee that I was a weird person. When I confront her with an ‘excuse me?’ she just walked away like the good disrespectful yellow belly coward that she is. When the security employee continuously chased me, even when I was in line and ready to pay for my merchandise, I’ve decided to tell her that there’s no need to follow me around, specially when I have being a costumer since I was just a little kid, and if that she wouldn’t hesitate to do so, then I will proceed to start a legal case against the store for moral discrimination and harassment. That’s when she finally understood and she just went away.
Now I ask this: Party City of Guaynabo only values customers that matches the stereotype of the “high class” customer? No wonder those that pretend to look like that or even are authentic to it, those are the ones who do the shoplifting so easily, because you keep harassing the people who proudly work to buy from your store.
I’m going to give you some advice. First, do not recruit people like one of the managers during the 2017 Halloween 🎃 Season. Not only she was homophobic, judgmental and a pure ignorant, those kind of people can bring the store owner a lot of legal troubles.
Second and last: remember that everything that’s done during this digital social media era is going to be known, no matter what. Your store can be thrown at social media for discrimination and believe me, you definitely don’t want bad press..... or even worse, get canceled for this kind of prejudiced attitude .
In 2019 my shopping experience was very positive. I no longer buy costumes on your store, but I do buy decorations, accessories and miscellaneous stuff. I’m going to ask you respectfully but full assertiveness to never ever harass me or accuse me indirectly like my intentions of coming to your store for shoplifting. If any of your employees ever do that, not only you are going to face legal troubles, you’re going to be in social media getting a very bad reputation. Train your employees to be watchful and balanced for loss prevention, but not stupid or prejudiced.
No matter what, I wish your store prosperity and hope for you to change those negative ways. Believe me, you can do better then that. Also, remember that all of your customers are valued customers. Not just a few selective...
Read moreI just got out of here and I'm very dissatisfied with service and employee's, not only when I asked for help a worker was very rude and blunt to us and said "if you cant see we dont have it" and walked off without saying a word. It's fine if you did not have the products but the way she said it and presented herself was very rude and almost annoyed, then we waited about 30 minutes for another employee to help us which never came and the few that were there stayed in the back the whole time and ignored us even when we called for them.not to mention the cashier never said a word to us and only spoke when the phone rang, I will never visit this place again and neither should anyone else for...
Read moreIt is one of the few stores for halloween items, yet it is a bit expensive overall. The parking is also tricky, at least the parking the store has is always full and a line forms. They have some parking in a corner but you need to walk a bit to the store if using that one.
Aside from halloween they do have quite a variety of party items, you will most likely find what you need for your part but they are more expensive that...
