I’m taking away one star for two reasons, the service was very slow initially and the crab mofongo was imitation crab…i was expecting real crab meat.
My waitress ended up being really nice and helpful. However I waited over 15 mins to receive a menu, so it wasnt a good start.
For food i had one fish taco and the crab mofongo. The fish taco was good, not the best but definitely not bad. I love fish tacos so I wasn’t impressed or displeased.
The crab mofongo was surprisingly good. I don’t love initiation crab bc it tends to add a sweetish taste to things and for the mofongo i was looking for a more savory taste. Again wasn’t bad at all, and if you don’t mind initiation crab, I’d recommend getting it. Overall the mofongo was tasty and I’d get it again I’d just choose a different meat. The portion was also large so I couldn’t finish it.
My mojitos were good and not too strong. The atmosphere was underwhelming. However like most people have said there’s ample parking which is amazing! Parking in San Juan can be annoying so it’s nice to find a place where you don’t have to walk 10 mins.
I’d say check this place out, where it may lack in some flair it makes up in portion...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a GENUINE review, stop and read. Although the location is beautiful, the food was terrible. We ordered a sampler and had to send it back because everything was over fried and stale and could literally not be chewed. Most of our main dishes were cold when they arrived to the table and EVERYTHING lacked flavor. I recommend avoiding anything with shrimp because the shrimp tastes like low quality frozen shrimp.
Our server messed up one of our dishes and took forever to bring drink refills even though the restaurant was not full. All in all, the experience was terrible. *RECOMMENDATION: For good Puerto Rican food go to El Platanal in Bayamon and for good sea food go to Que PezCa’o in San Juan. Save your money and...
Read moreThis is not the place I knew back 2019. This place has degraded so much that it is below Fast Food standards with very overly price food. I remember people were all dressed up as this place was an upscale like restaurant. I ordered a ceviche and it was stale with a questionable fish quality. Loud music and louder people's conversations, that's not what I remember from my previous experience with this Cayo Caribe. Bad food, ultra expensive when factoring in the ambiance and the food. When you spend $90 plus tax and tip, you expect a higher quality, but not something you can fix yourself at home. I won't return and urge everybody...
