Del's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Gulf Shores

Stopped in a few weeks ago with my wife and toddler for some ice cream. The ice cream itself was great—no complaints there. But the ordering process was a little confusing.

My wife got a single scoop, and I ordered the hot fudge sundae, which comes with two scoops. I asked the guy if he could put one of my scoops in a cone for my toddler. He said he could, but that he’d have to charge me for the cone—which I was fine with. Like any reasonable person, I assumed he meant just the cost of the empty cone.

When we got our order, the total came to $25, which seemed high, so I asked how much the cone was. That’s when he told me he had to charge for both the cone and an extra scoop of ice cream—even though I was just using one of the scoops that came with my sundae. That didn’t really make sense to me.

After talking about it for a minute, he agreed they owed me a single scoop to-go, but that left me even more confused, because that’s all I originally wanted—just served in a cone for my toddler.
