Very poor experience! I’d like to start by I out to eat very often and have probably tried out every all you can eat place possible in the area and further, this must be one of the worst. The selection is small, the food is mediocre, the belt is uncomfortable, not all sushi is labeled only some, it will tell you the fish type and then you’ll see several different types and not know what you are really getting, The service is terrible. We came at about 2:30pn on a Tuesday, the place was completely empty. On the menu it mentions on weekdays the all you can eat option is $29.99 When we asked for the check, not only they told me that I’ll have to play extra for wasting food, I’ll show in photos what they consider as a lot of waste of food. They cheered each of us $36 plus they wanted to tack on more for (wasting plain white rice) For the all you can eat, the dessert is NOT all you can eat, you can choose one tiny piece of something and that’s it. The udon soup is plain, sushi is a basic as possible and they will not offer you sushimi. So get ready to stuff yourself on rice, cause god forbid you leave some rice behind, many sushi was not edible. They killed out nice planned luck with our babies. Also they mentioned 2 days in a row that my 24 months old and the 18 month old will be free and when we where checking out they said they will either charge me for the white rice small plate I didn’t eat or the toddler, they made it seem like they were doing something special by not charging the $17 for each baby and toddler. They are so unorganized. I had to stand over the conveyer belt to try to figure out the sushi and just really so hard to eat, nothing food. Would never step foot in there again and for the sake of the reader, don’t bother going in there, ruins your mood and appetite. They are so stingy and desperate, they they were trying hard to charge something more than the $29 stated on the menu, whether it’s for “wasting food” or for the baby or randomly will tell you they over knight changed their prices and it’s no longer 29 it’s 35, but stated no where. Really so so...
Read moreWanted to come show support for one of my favorite local spots. I saw someone else post and wanted to add on- for anyone who’s not aware someone had a bug in their drink and made a TikTok about it and it went viral. BECAUSE OF THAT VIDEO PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT EATEN AT THIS RESTAURANT EVER are making reviews about it being bug infested. Hackensack is extremely strict with code enforcement- these reviewers are declaring they came from tiktok and are making FALSE reviews to get this place shut down. This is a great local business and an awesome addition to the Hackensack community. Please stop trying to shut down a place you’ve never actually visited. I saw the tiktok video- the woman very clearly stated it was something in her ice cube and that’s a pretty easy thing to happen in the restaurant industry. There were not even super clear pictures- it looked like a regular bug and it probably crawled in a waterline. The original poster wasn’t even angry at the restaurant she was mad at door dash for not refunding her order.
I’ve eaten here FOR YEARS and never had an issue and I’ve had sushi ALL OVER Bergen County and it’s not always as great as this place. Please stop attacking this business- they are not dirty.
I too live in an expensive building in Hackensack, rent is over $3k+ in my building for a 2-bedroom. This is not a slum area- if people have concerns call the health department. This place has passed inspection and is actually extremely clean. To the Oishi owners: I am so sorry this is happening to your business. I actively encourage you to raise the problem to google and ban these reviews and to seek punitive damages - IP ADDRESSES can be traced and if they don’t have proof that they’ve actually eaten there then their reviews are slander and libel. Hang in there, the locals who have enjoyed your restaurant for years will continue...
Read moreFor those of you who don’t know 5 months ago someone got an order from here made a tiktok about finding a bug in her boba tea. The video went viral- From that video a slew of reviewers have been posting THAT HAVE NOT EATEN AT RHE ACTUAL RESTAURANT. I live in Hackensack, I’ve eaten at this place for many years- and I live in the town. It is not roach infested- the inside is actually pretty clean for a sushi spot. People are trying to get this place closed down and it’s a really great thriving local sushi spot- please stop. If you watch the video the boba lady didn’t even take pics of whatever she found that you could clearly see. I don’t doubt she had something in her drink but she explained it was in an ice cube and melted- that’s a really common problem in the food industry and not specific to a locations cleanliness - anyone whose worked BOH in a restaurant knows this. It’s unfortunate but it probably was something that got into the ice machine and tbh it didn’t look like a roach it looked like a bug.
Please stop trying to shut down an otherwise thriving local small business that actually serves good food. For those of you who don’t know Hackensack, NJ isn’t a bad area- I live in an expensive high rise that’s over $2k+ a month- they are strict with code enforcement here - anything that was actually roach infested would get shut down pretty...
