PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU'RE THINKING OF HAVING REAL VIETNAMESE FOOD.
Unfortunately I have to give a rating of at least one star!
THE PHOTOS ON THE MENUS ARE FROM STOCK PHOTOS, probably Shutterstock. Don't depict pictures of food on a menu you didn't make yourself.
This place doesn't deserve any stars. The food is not authentic Vietnamese nor is it worthy of calling their restaurant Vietnamese. Just because they have a few pieces of memorabilia on the walls that ARE Vietnamese doesn't make the restaurant Vietnamese.
We ordered shrimp salad that came with cucumber in the salad!! A true shrimp salad is usually very dry until you add the nước chấm (not Ngọc cham as is on the menu).
That was our first warning sign. We then had our noodle soup turn up. Supposedly bún bò Huế, sadly it was not!!! Wrong noodle type and the noodles were clumped up just like it had just been removed from a packet. The soup broth flavour was confusing as it had way to much lemon grass and definitely didn't have the right ingredients for a bún bò Huế!. And to add to all of this, we were provided with take out cutlery whilst eating IN the restaurant. The plates and cups provided were also dirty!
The service was appalling as they only had two wait staff and many tables including us waited ages for our meals. See photos for evidence
Written from a Vietnamese diner's perspective. So if you're thinking of going for Vietnamese avoid this place and drive a little further away.
You have been warned.
To the owner, if you change the authenticity of a Vietnamese dish then don't call your restaurant a Vietnamese restaurant. My rating and review is based on what you call the food. it's abysmal just like your excuse...
Read moreIs there anything as comforting on a cold night as slurping thin rice noodles from a rich, deep, stewed-for-hours broth? Others might disagree, but it was what my taste buds were screaming for on a recent blustering cold night. My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant, and the short version of this review is that we not only satisfied my cravings, but I think we've found our favorite Vietnamese spot in the area.
I was bemused by the way they display comically oversized versions of their menu at every table. What I initially considered to be somewhat gimmicky turned out to be quite convenient since everyone at the table was simultaneously viewing the same menu while discussing ordering options.
I love how quickly the food gets to your table at Vietnamese restaurants, and Pho Saigon is no exception. Our crispy spring rolls arrived mere minutes after ordering, and they were everything I'd want from a good fried appetizer - meaty, flavorful, and hot enough to do some of those open-mouthed dragon breaths after your first bite. My beef pho was also fantastic, with the broth perfectly redolent of all the spices that imparted their flavors. But I was most impressed with my husband's chicken vermicelli bowl. The meat was beautifully seasoned and, once mixed with the supplied sauce, made for a light and refreshing meal. It'll definitely be my next order when I'm here (and, if it weren't already clear enough, I'm most certainly going be back for more).
Service is polite and blazingly efficient. If you're in the area and cursed with the craving for solid Vietnamese food, don't miss...
Read moreDelicious and service was great.
The summer spring roll was freshly made, and went so well with the creamy peanut sauce.
My mixed seafood pho had 3 jumbo shrimps, fish balls, squid, and scallops. It would be great if there were more noodles, but then I felt like it was only my bowl with less noodles (I’ve had other pho with a higher noodle to soup ratio).
My husband ordered their chicken vermicelli noodle salad platter. Meat was cooked perfectly and the dressing made the salad!
Since this location has only been opened for business recently, there are still items on their menu that are not available. Desserts are one of the few items that are not available. So we went across the street and grab tiramisu and tres de leche at a bakery.
Suggestion to the establishment- Please add a tofu option to your banh mi sandwich menu.
Update 1/7/22: I’ve been a regular here since they’ve opened and have been ordering via UberEats since the pandemic and we usually pay for priority delivery since pho soups taste best when it’s piping hot! I have to say my last delivery has gone VERY down hill in regards to quality. First off the pho soup arrived warm, and the noodles were broken up into small pieces. They use smaller sz shrimps and baby scallops now, and there’s only one variety of fish balls in the seafood pho. Presentation...
