FOR SOME REASON MY INITIAL REVIEW HAS BEEN REMOVED. It’s unfortunate because my experience was very real and no one should be deprived of knowing my experience. This is the email I sent this establishment following my experience and apparently they think they are above responding. Therefore sharing on Google was my only recourse for ensuring they were informed.

Hi...

I just wanted to take a moment to share my thoughts about my dining experience last night. Firstly, I’d like to say I am a proponent of the independent restaurant. I feel as if many times it the best dining experience. The attention and autonomy to create unique recipes fosters a special atmosphere. Your establishment is beautiful. The decor and ambiance is amazing. We were greeted and seated right away, in spite of our tardiness. Our Server was highly informative and cordial. Our appetizers we’re phenomenal. It is clear that the recipes are carefully crafted. All of the flavors to every single dish were enjoyed by everyone in our party. However, your must take a hard look and your chef. There were three orders of Red Snapper that came to our table. ALL of those orders were overcooked. We did not have them re-fired because as I mentioned earlier, the flavors were fantastic. The guest of honor at our table (The actual ONLY reason we chose to dine at your restaurant) ordered lobster. It came out severely under cooked. When we mentioned this, there was no hesitation to have it redone. The problem lies in the fact that when the replacement dish came out, it was half the size of the original tail and also severely OVERcooked. While I understand that not EVERY dish can be perfect EVERY time, I do expect a certain level of excellence when I chose a restaurant with dishes at your price point. We are grateful for the attempt to make up for some of our disappointment already expressed while we were dining with the complimentary dessert. Unfortunately, even that was not satisfactory. I ordered the pound cake (which tasted delicious), but where was the fruit that was supposed to accompany it? If you are going to make a gesture in order to make up for something, please follow through all the way or mention that is not going to be as expected. The financial and social environment we are in makes me want to support independent establishments such as yourselves more than anything. This message is merely to let you know that there is room for improvement. There really is no actual reason for me to recommend your restaurant to anyone or or return to your restaurant anytime soon. Nonetheless, thank you for your time and I hope this feedback will help you with your...

ZERO STARS ZERO STARS . Poorly cooked steaks . The daughter of the owner was a brute. She started tossing her hand up in my face while anxiously and frustratedly telling me to be calm and everything is coming out . I was very calm and did not send any angry vibes out to her . After about an hour and a half of waiting the food finally came out all our meals were put together very poorly and fast , almost like they forgot about it and threw it on the grill again just to get it out . They were more worried about serving their own family members rather than serving paying customers . Apparently what happened was one of the 3 cooks got sick , atleast that’s what was said in the beginning . Then moments later we heard that he actually quit so now only down to 2 cooks and also keep in mind there were max 6 parties of 2 people in the restaurant not including our party of 5 . Most of these people already had their food or came after we arrived and got served before us. Such a “classy “ restaurant should be prepared for situations such as this . And not just have the elderly mother who i assume owns the restaurant going from table to table saying I’m sorry it’s usually not like this . Understandable but the Daughter or one of the many family members eating drinking having a good time should have stepped up and not have been talking to me in an unprofessional manner and also shooting glares at me the rest of the time we waited for our food . If i could rate negative stars i would . NEVER GOING BACK EVER and if the owners or whomever read this or see this review i hope something gets done because it was truely the most dissatisfying , and disgraceful experience I’ve had in my entire life . Better cooking and service done at...

Went to Kunkel’s today with my mom, and wow! This place is something special. They’ve been around for 21 years, and you can feel the love and experience in every part of the meal. Our waitress, Denese, was so kind and welcoming, and shared that it’s a family-owned restaurant. That really stuck with me. Carol was also so sweet, it genuinely felt like we were having dinner with family. The space is quaint, cozy, and beautifully designed. It’s the kind of place where you can truly relax and enjoy your food. We started with the bacon-wrapped scallop, and it was incredible. Creamy, fresh, perfectly grilled, with a dressing that was bright and refreshing. The house salad was also a standout. I tried both the balsamic and roasted red pepper vinaigrettes, and both were bursting with flavor. Definitely homemade, and definitely delicious. For my main, I had the beef bordelaise; so tender, meaty, and comforting. Every bite was flavorful and cooked just right. My mom had the honey-glazed pork chop, and it was honestly unforgettable. Super tender, premium cut, perfectly glazed. The kind of dish that makes you close your eyes for a moment and just feel it. The mashed potatoes on the side were creamy, full-bodied, and clearly homemade. Also loved the fried onions! crispy, light, and just the right texture. We finished with the pound cake, and it was the perfect end to the meal. Airy, soft, and just sweet enough. Bonus points for being BYOB, which always makes things feel a little more personal. Kunkel’s is officially on my list of favorite spots. Amazing food, heartfelt service, and just a beautiful energy all around. I’ll definitely be back.

Meh. The reviews and pictures were mixed but we decided we wanted to try something new for my dad's birthday so made a reservation for 6 people. Let me start with the service...while our waiter was friendly she was not attentive to our table after taking the order. We noticed all the other tables had bread and we were sitting for 45 minutes after ordering our meals and did not get bread or even a refill or drinks or water. We got the attention of our server and asked for bread. 20 more minutes and she brought small basket with 5 pieces of bread (for a table of six waiting over an hour now). We asked for more and 10 minutes went by, so we asked again assuming they forgot. We were told it's in the oven. Finally, another small basket of 5 slices shows up in another 10 minutes. After 90 minutes our apps arrived. Seafood chowder was ok at best, raw clams were tasty, salads and dressings were very good. Our meals came soon after, but total wait from when we sat was 2 hours. Steaks were very good, salmon was average at best, seafood pasta was ok, halibut special was decent. Overall, the entrees were forgettable. We ordered desserts which were surprisingly fantastic. The rice pudding, crem brûlée, and their cheesecake/ice cream were all delicious. Now back to the service....by the time we finished dessert, not one water glass was refilled and the table wasn't bussed. We piled our empty appetizers and salad plates at the end of the table and they remained there the entire meal. I know many people had great experiences but this is a definite one and done as everyone in our party agreed.
