If you’re looking for a spot that packs craft beer, cocktails, local eats, and live music all under one (very large) roof, Hub City Brewery in Hagerstown, Maryland delivers in a big way. Located inside the MarketPlace Collective, this brewery feels less like a taproom and more like an entertainment district.
Hub City pours house made beers, and their sister company, Church Street Distilling Co., makes small-batch spirits to fuel their full cocktail menu.
The space itself is massive, with plenty of seating and standing room to catch a live band without feeling like you're shoulder-to-shoulder. It's the kind of place you can easily spend an afternoon and slide right into evening plans. Plus, with a rotating line of food trucks out front, there’s always something new and local to eat alongside your drink of choice.
Our favorite beer was "The Fruit Farmer" Sour Series — this specific one was tangerine, and pineapple. It was tropical, tangy and refreshing.
Whether you're there for the beer, the bites, or the bands, Hub City Brewery makes it easy to stay a while — and come...
Read moreI came in on a whim as I had some time on my hands being its a Monday and very breweries are open. Met a wonderful young lady named Amanda and she is very knowledgable of her product (Idrink beer mostly but were able to converse about liquors as well). I chose a flight to taste a few beer as well as got a taste of the cider (spot on, not sweet nor bitter). I do not like hoppy beer so I went light. Had a pilsner, lager, Kolsch and a Hefeweizen in my flight. I TRULY enjoyes all offerings. I am a sucker for a good hef and had 2 full pours after. The place is huge but still homie. Well set up and managed. Is a 5 star from me as from the point I entered until I left, I felt as I belonged. Looking forwatd to next visit to taste some of the distilled options. Edit: Pleasantly suprised as the mensroom is not just clean but ample facilities. 4 standers and 2 sitters. It is small things like this that make a generation like mine, that came from pay toilets,...
Read moreI tried this place on a Thursday in the early afternoon. I was the only customer but gave me time to chat with the bartender and learn about the beer and operations of the place.
It is MASSIVE inside. I love the wide open concept. I used to attend this building on Sundays for breakfast by numerous vendors prior to covid-19, and it brought back good memories.
The beer was average. My favorite was the imperial stout (Mama Bear). I got a crowler of this to go.
They have a food truck outside but it had limited hours and was not open yet. It looks like they have a full kitchen ready to go inside but waiting on permits from the...
